We are arriving on April 27th around 10:30. Will it be worth our while to try and get over to TL for a few hours? We have never been to the water parks so we have no idea what the crowds will be like on a Thurs. Any of you experts please help. :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher:

All the shady spots will probably be gone by then. You have to get there when the park opens or later in the afternoon to get an umbrella or other shady spot.

The water parks at Disney are outstanding, it is definately worth your time to go..

Who needs a shady spot...its a water park? I'm one of the those people that don't get out of the water.

I have read its best to go to water parks early in the week, because most people do the 4 major parks and then head for the water parks at the end of the week. I know we ended up having to go on a Thursday b/c of weather and it was crowded. We spent two hours at TL and only got to do the wave pool and the Shark Reef(over an hour wait just for that)

Next time we will go when they open on a Monday morning.

torinsmom-what time of year did you go? You've got me worried, because we were looking forward to seeing the sharks several times. Last time we went (end of May,early June) we could just go through, get out, walk around and go through again with little to no wait.

To the OP, I would spend as much time there as you can to just relax and play. We usually spend the whole day and still aren't ready to leave! Maybe use a 'half-day' at a park or Downtown Disney?

Deb & Bill how late in the afternoon? I was thinking the same thing as the OP, we are arriving 9/30 (Saturday, uh oh) likely around 11am, I am not a big fan of sitting out in the boiling sun, I'd much rather sit in the shade... I was hoping if I got to the water park by say 1pm, some people would leave? Fruitless hope?

We went during 4th of July week and got there at 11:00 a.m. and it was crowded with long lines on some of the bigger slides but we were still able to do just about everything in 3 1/2 hours. So 3-4 hours is plenty for the water parks.

We were there March 25-30, March 30 is when we went to TL. Now, we went at around 1pm, so I'm not sure how it would be first thing when they open. It was a never ending line. The ship in between the reefs is really cool too. We spent a lot of time looking at the fish and sharks through the portholes.

People start leaving about 3PM. 1PM would still be too early to get an abandoned umbrella.
