I have never been to wdw water parks and will be up on business and will make a detour for a day to typhoon lagoon.

I have a couple questions about the wave pool, since I'll likely spend most of my time there.

* How often do the waves go? I read something about a 90 mins cycle, but is that all day? How often are the big waves? Can you rent boogie boards or anything like that? Are the waves big enough to boogie board or body surf?

Im just really curious about details on the wave pool

Thanks

the big wave comes every 90 seconds. and they occasionally stop that cycle for some light bobbing waves. don't remember how long that lasts/when that happens... it's been a few years. maybe big waves for 45 or 50 minutes and then bobbing waves for 15 minutes? :confused3

they do not have boogie boards- probably wouldn't be safe with all the young kids. you can "swim" on top of the big wave when it comes though.

I forget how often the waves change but they go back and forth from a bobbing type wave to 6 footers. We love the 6 footers and yes you can get in there and body surf!

They have a great wave pool!! Waves are big and come often as others have said...don't even think about Blizzard beach if the main attraction for you would be the wave pool. You can body surf but no boogie board. Have fun!

Lots of fun, but rough pavement underneath, just be careful trying not to scrape your knees or feet. :goodvibes

Here is a video put out by the manufacturer of the wave machine. During the normal day the waves are no more than five feet. For the surf parties and competitions they can be as high as eight feet.

You are not allowed to bring anything into the Lagoon that is not worn - boards of any sort, noodles, swim rings, etc. You are allowed to wear a flotation vest. This is for the safety of others - Park capacity is a little under 10,000 and that means there are lots of people in the Lagoon and it is unsafe to have any objects that can float and hit someone.
