Family of four- includes 2 teenage boys 17 & 14 :smooth:

Which water park would you suggest for them? We are from the north and presently we do have snow on the ground. Blizzard Beach sounds fun, but personally do want to get away from the white stuff and see the beautiful greenery. :sunny:

But -- which park -- TL or BB would be better for boys of this age?

I see on the board TL will be opening March 1.

Want to keep everyone happy!!! :teeth:

I'd say Blizzard Beach for that age group. But at either one you should have a great time!:D

There will be plenty of green to see at Blizzard Beach. I would go for BB with that age group, too. Many more "thrill" rides there.

I agree with my fellow posters....BB is the best for that age group but you'll have at either! I still wish River Country was open!

BB gets my vote also. Excellent tube rides and the family raft ride is the best. With that being said the wave pool at TL would go over good with boys that age. Sorry, I was no help.LOL

I like typhoon lagoon myself, the wave pool is great and they have just as many slides it seems as blizzard beach. Blizzard beach has an area that is primarily for preteens and a kiddie area and then the regular water rides. At Typhoon Lagoon I also LOVE being able to swim with the sharks and fish, I could do that all day every day it was fun. Also the lazy river is better at typhoon lagoon. I think I just like the way it is set up better, blizzard beach is good too but if I had to pick one it would be TL.

You can also sign up for surfing lessons at TL. BB may have bigger slides, but TL has a better wave pool.

I thought I read somewhere that TL was closed through the end of Feb? I think I saw it on the Disney site.

If you are trying to escape the North I would recommend TL. You feel like you are on a tropical island.

I think it really comes down to theming. There is plenty for your kids to do. My kids have loved it for years!

:D

First, welcome to the DIS. Enjoy your stay. Second, I'm from the north, too. Actually, the northeast. I would pick BB, too. There just seems to be more to do there. Don't get me wrong, TL is a great water park, too, but BB gets my vote every time.

Sheer numbers, BB has close to twice as many slides as TL. (although TL is also excellent for many reasons -shark reef being a prime example)

BB would be my pick, but explain the differences to the boys (awesome slides versus big wave pool) and let them choose. I am from the North as well, and don't let the pretend snow scare you off. princess:

We are going to try BB with our two teens in April. We have always been Typhoon Lagoon people. I think it has to do with escaping SNOW!

TL & BB are both great water parks.
You will have lots of fun at either one.
If I had to choose, my personal choice would be
Blizzard Beach.

BB hands down...Summit Plummit will give you the biggest wedgie:crazy: but the adrenaline rush is so worth it:teeth: but i am and adrenaline junkie! lolpirate:

I always recommend that people go to BB because then it is easier to find a chair at TL! Honestly, no one in our family can understand what people see in BB, but I'm sure glad that it's there. If everyone were at TL, then I'd get kicked in the head in the wave pool.
