We fly in early (arrive 9:45) on 7/27 and are planning on spending the afternoon at TL before our cruise the next morning. We LOVED it when we went - back in 2009. But that's a long time ago!! Any tips or suggestions for us? We are taking DME to our resort (All Star Sports) and planning on grabbing a quick lunch at the food court before jumping on bus to TL. That should put us there around noonish, we think!! We have dinner reservations at O'Hana at 8:30 that night, so are planning on staying through the afternoon and then heading back to the resort to get ready. Not sure the timing of everything - don't know exactly how long the buses will take!! We will have our 19, 18 and 16 year olds with us. I'd love any insights!! :-) TIA!!

Agree with above poster, too much time spent in transportation to TL when you take the Disney buses.

We always take a taxi there and back. Saves so much time and is not expensive!! They do not always have taxi's waiting for the return visit, so we just take a pic of the taxi's phone number on the car and call when we are ready to be picked up. Took about 5min to get a taxi there.

TL is our favorite!! Just got back from a great trip in June. The shark snorkel is gone, which we really liked. There is a new family raft ride. All in all we LOVE the surf pool! Still our favorite and will always be our favorite. We can spend hours there.

Not sure if a shady spot is important to you, but you can rent an umbrella chair. It's pretty cheap and good meeting spot, if you split up. For us shade is a must, so we like to rent a cabana. The cabana rents to six, so you would have plenty of room.

You may be spending a lot of time in transportation at TL busses can require a stop at Disney Springs

Do you find the surf pool to be very rough for kids (say 9 year old)? So sad to hear about the shark snorkel, I saw it in the travel channel and it looked amazing. It was on our Disney bucket list.

The surf pool can be rough, depending on where you are. We are all good swimmers, so we swim out as far as possible. The farther out you swim the less rough it is and the less crowded.

In the middle where you can stand can be rougher and more of a chance to run into your fellow swimmers.

In the shallower section, you still get good waves, but it's not as rough.

Good to know about transportation - there are 5 of us - would a taxi work?? And I am so sad about the shark snorkel - that was one of our favorite memories!! :-)

They have van taxi's that can seat 5 no problem. If there is not one at your resort, bell service can call one for you. If you need to call for one at TL for the return trip, they will ask you how many people need a ride.

We loved the snorkeling too! My family are all scuba divers, so do very well in salt water and the gear.

We we're there today and had a great time! Love the wave pool!!

We took an über from Coronado Springs and it cost $8. This is a cheaper option than a taxi. With 5 people you will need to get überXL so
It will be a few dollars more but still cheaper than a taxi.
