Typhoon Lagoon ticket and purchase question

This will be a first time going to one of the water parks for us..myself, BF and DD8 and we are so excited! Here are my Two questions.
1. Would it be better/ easier to purchase them a head of time or when we get to WDW?
2. Do they link to our magic bands or do we need to pick up the actual ticket?

It's usually easy to pick up tickets when you arrive. The ticket kiosks at Typhoon are rarely crowded, and waiting lets you factor weather and crowds into the purchase.
Yes, they are linked to your Magic Band.

If I purchase ahead of time are they good any day or do I have to specify a date??
