Typhoon Lagoon Seating

Hi! I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in nearly two years and the last time I remember having trouble finding a seat. Particularly in the shade.

Is there somewhere that isn't very crowded we can take a break? I'd like to have an idea where to head when we get there so I'm not circling the parks for an hour.

Hmm, I don't have much advice for lounge chairs because we always get them in the direct sunlight and spots that are in the shade early in the day are in sun by mid-day.

However, if you're looking for someplace to "take a break" in the shade: If you go right when the park first opens, there's at least 1 area that I know of (probably more) that is a nice patio that has tables and chairs and the patio is surrounding by trees. Once lunchtime approaches, these tables are all taken, but when the park first opens NOBODY is over there because they're all busy snagging loungechairs and heading for the waterslides.

I'd suggest staking out one of these tables and keeping some of your stuff there.

<font color=FF0033>If you have young ones, you might enjoy the place we set up "camp" last March. We went left as we entered the park and walked to "Tikes Peak" area. There are covered picnic tables there but we chose a table in the sand with an umbrella. It was right near the little stream of water and we used a few lounges and chairs for the 11 of us. The small ones played in the sand with their pails and shovels that came with their kiddie lunches. They played in the water also and we had a great view of them. We adults took turns going on the adult slides but mainly rested in the shade. The table was great for all of our stuff and for lunch/snacks. We made a day of it and loved our spot. Our exprience in finding a seated spot with shade consisted in joining the mob and running like madmen when the park just opened...all to secure one of the very few spots with any shade.

Blizzard Beach is almost exactly the same--get there early, get in the pack at the entrance rope, and then run like mad to get a shaded chair.

Could you bring a beach umbrella with you? Do they let them into the water parks?

My problem is of course, I'll be going to the water parks in the afternoon after taking advantage of EMH.

I'm hoping to find an out of the way area that just might have the possiblity of having an empty chair.

Although, I say empty meaning "unsaved". With my experiences on the Disney Cruise, SAB, and other pools/water parks at Disney. I'd say about 10% of chairs are occupied and 90% are just holding a towel, but that is a whole other thread.

We have gone over to the water parks later in the afternoon and found lots of good places with shade. You either have to be there when the park opens or go later in the afternoon.

The area where the tables and chairs are (TL) usually are reserved for diners. I think they have a sign there indicating they are for the use of diners, not swimmers. I know I hate to get something to eat, and then can't find anywhere to sit to eat because all the tables and chairs are covered with beach towels, beach toys and bags.
