Typhoon Lagoon Questions

The chair stakeout does take awhile. Therefore, I second (or fifth) the getting there early part. However, when I went with my friends, we would always just get a locker, and one person be on key duty. We could all (4 of us) usually fit our stuff in a locker (4 towels, 2 sunscreens, and clothes), and then you have a guarantee of it being there. That you usually can get throughout the day.

DH and I were just talking about this. We have our first visit to TL next Friday and I was wondering why we need a chair. When we went to Holiday World in Indiana a couple of years ago, we just used the locker and never used a chair. We were busy going around to the different slides.

So I am not 'getting' the whole chair thing. Wouldn't it be easier to just get a locker and put everything there? What is the reason for the chair?

Regardless of whether you're going to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, you should be there before opening. Especially in the summer, when both parks fill to capacity very early and don't allow anyone else in.

We always rent towels as well as a locker for our valuables.

We take a chair just to leave our sandals and t shirts, not to actually sit on it, since once we are done playing in the water we leave. (there's no room in the locker for our valuables, plus 4 pairs of sandals and bathing suit covers - so the bathing suit covers and sandals get left on the chair).

Generally speaking we're out of TL and BB by noon. We do all the slides, swim in the wave pool, go around the lazy river about 2 or 3 times, have a quick bite to eat (snow cone at BB) and then we're gone.

The lines are too long for us after the first two hours. And we never ever lie in the sun, so there's no point in hanging around. So back to the hotel we go, to wash up and head out to do something else in the afternoon.

I would have never thought about autographs at the water parks........what about pin trading? We are big traders and would have to lock our lanyards in a locker while we swim, but is anyone trading pins that you have seen?

I'm trying to figure this out. I know TL gets crowded, but if the park opens at 9am and I'm staying at pop century do I need to get to the waterpark before 9am.......say on Friday July 10th???? or do I need to leave my hotel at 8am or what? I've never stayed at pop century and wondered about how the buses ran and when I should leave my hotel.

Or, if my family is too slow and we don't get up in time, when would be good in the afternoon.....noon, 2pm?

we really want to try out the new slide, wave pool, lazy river and some of the other slides but I don't want to spend all my time in lines........

I know I have lots of questions, but we have only a few days and I hate to think we are going to the water park, get there and then find out we are too late and the park is full. Also, hate to get up too early if we had a late night out..........

Thanks for any specific details on times and bus transportation for thurs, fridays.............
