Is the ground to hot to walk on? Will we need to bring water shoes to the water parks?

I have never been to a water park and we just wear flip flops at the pool or river but I don't think they will let me hold my flip flops down the water sides! :rotfl:

Thanks

We went to Blizzard beach a few weeks ago. I wore water shoes 'cause I'm just not a barefoot kind of gal, but almost everyone else was barefoot. They have little sprinkler-things spraying water on the sidewalks all over the place. I'm assuming Typhoon lagoon would have those too. I did see a person or two in crocs and several in flip flops. I'm not sure what they did with them on slides.

There's not much cement once you get "into" the park. It is mostly sand with the exception of the bridges and want "onto's" for the rides/slides. I don't need to wear water shoes.

Have a great time.....

Good question! I'm not a barefoot person either and am going to TL for the first time. I believe I'm wearing my Merrills or Teva's for comfort.

We went to both TL and BB twice during our recent trip. We all went barefoot. There is water spraying everywhere so it really is not too bad, and of course you are wet also. The only place it was warm was out beside crush n gusher. But we walked through the sand there, after realizing it was warm. I guess it just depends if you like going barefoot, or if your feet are not so tender. We go barefoot all the time, so it was normal to go barefoot for us. I seen some people on the body slides take off their water shoes and hold them as they went down.

Thanks everyone. I think my son will be ok but I might bring them just in case. ;)

As another poster has said, they spray down all the walkways with water. However there are a few places that are hot, and the sand is warm too, so we take shoes and leave them on our sun loungers!

You actually can hold your flip flops down the slides. You are required to on the body slide (humunga kowabunga). As long as you can hold on to your flip flops and your inner tube at the same time you will be fine.

But yes bring them because even if they mist the sidewalks they get hot.

The first time we visited TL we all went bare foot. We found the concreted area to be very hard on our feet. We now wear our water shoes and enjoy it soo much more. Only thing you need to take them off and hold them for are the "super" slides.
