My fiancee and I plan to go to 1 water park at Disney and have not been to either. Both of us love wave pools and don't care so much for slides. DF may go on one just to say he has, I usually stay clear of them. But for us, two things sound really interesting:

- Swimming across the lagoon with sharks at Typhoon Lagoon... this sounds neat. But, DF isn't really a strong swimmer. Is it deep? Are there floatation devices available? And, is it really a big enjoyable deal?

- White Water Rafting at Blizzard Beach. Is it really like rafting? Lots of waves? Kinda scary? I think this kinda sounds more fun...

Fill me in!!! :earsgirl:

Easy decision. Blizzard Beach is closed for rehab during November so you'll be going to TL.

If you like wave pools then you may like TL better, it has bobbing waves most of the time and I think every 1.5 hr's it has a 6ft wave every 90 seconds, Im sure someone could clear it as Im not to sure about the intervals. Also its very pretty scenerie, me and my wife were debating blizzard or typhoon and went with typhoon last minute and loved it. the shark pool doesnt seem to deep, of course I was looking from a bridge but you could see the bottom, also it seems everyone were just floating on top, so I dont think you have to worry about going deep to see sharks.
I dont know alot about BB but typhoon lagoon does have a few very fun slides, especially the new roller coaster type slide.

However I think BB is closed for rehab so you may have no choice.

DH and I prefer BB, because we love all the slides. But if you're not into that, you'll enjoy TL. Their 'lazy river' has all this neat tropical landscaping, and their wave pool is huge. The snorkeling is cool, but it's kind of small & it doesn't take long to get across it. It wasn't very deep; you just float across the top without kicking your feet. I think they did have some type of floats for people who wanted them. Have fun!

The Shark Reef is quite small and you can't 'swim' in it, you have to float across the top. When you get to the other side you have to get out and queue up again if you want a second viewing. It's a neat addition, but not a genuine 5 star attraction. Well worth doing, though!

There is no white water rafting at either park. There's a family raft ride at each, but they are giant tube rides (meaning, you sit in the raft, which is circular rather than looking like an actual boat you may think of when you hear the word 'raft'). You are a passive passenger rather than an actual 'boater' (no paddles, etc) and there are no waves or rapids. It's a slide rather than a river. We absolutely love the family raft ride at BB which, as others have said, will be down for rehab.

Typhoon Lagoon is a fabulous park, so don't be put off by it's being a bit different than what it sounds like you have in mind.
