Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

Actually, I was disappointed that I couldn't go down that big slide. :) It would have been fun to land in the wave pool or something.

Here's a tip. Don't wait in line to buy a ticket at the ticket windows. There are self-serve machines where you can buy your ticket with a credit card. They are on the right before you walk down the walkway to get to the ticket windows. Nobody seemed to realize they were there until a CM mentioned it to the people in line at the ticket window.

Legs and everyone else thanks for all the tips. That's good to know about the self-serve ticket machines. I'm thinking about buying the tickets from AAA, their prices are a little lower.

LoL TM2:D No offense taken:D Although I swear everytime we passed BB last year I looked over there each time thinking I was going to see someone slide down that thing:o

Chalk it up to another one of my dingbat moments:o

Nice tag pongo!!!!

You just can't beat that wave pool at BB. I've never seen one like it before. You hear this woosh, and then you get pounded by a massive wave. It's really incredible.:sunny:

Ok, another question;

We are expecting BB to be crowded, as we are going early next month. As far as crowds are concerned, is it better to go as soon as the park opens or later on in the afternoon? TIA

Get there early or wait until the afternoon. The park often closed at capacity within a few hours - or even less on hot weekends! So if you're not there right away, you might not be able to get in until enough people have left, which is usually in the mid- to late-afternoon. (Depending on the afternoon thundershower, of course! That always empties the park!)

At BB, the chairs are really packed in together and there are so many rows of them. We got chairs in the very front of the wave pool so the water was right in front of us and we had people take their chairs and put them right in front of us with barely enough room for our legs:mad:

There are a few wood deck "alcoves" off the pathway and they overlook the lazy river. They are very private, have railings around them, are only for one family, and are shaded by lots of trees. They have chairs and tables in them. They looked really nice.

My DS15 loves Blizzard beach....I like TL myself....like the wading pool better and the lazy river better.

Oh and BB has plenty of slides for the older ones too, tell them to make sure to hold on to their drawers, though! We saw a ton of people lose theirs on Summit Plummet! :)

::yes:: The UG states that the bottom of Summit Plummet is prime viewing area for lost bathing suit gawkers! They suggest (strongly) that ladies wear a one piece bathing suit if they are going down it...;)

We always go during the time of year that BB is closed, so we haven't had the pleasure. Does anyone know if it will be open late October this year? We are quite happy with TL, but maybe we could visit both this year??

I know the decision has been made already, but I still vote for TL! The wave pool rocks - it completely kicks the pants off the wave pool at BB.;)

Tropical theming is also preferable to our family. We see enough "snow" and "ice" around here - don't need more when we go on vacation.:p

BUT, that said. When you do BB, you MUST go on Summit Plummet. I've done it twice and there is simply NO way to describe the experience in words. You can only understand it by doing it.;)

This is true. It is a gentler wave pool at BB.

Can anyone help me decide which water park to go to with younger children? We will be taking an 11 month old and a 2 year old next May.

We've only been to TL and thought the shade was a great feature for our grandchildren, but I know our young adult kids would prefer the more intense slides at BB. Does BB have enough shade for the babies? What about stuff for them to do?

Thanks! ::MinnieMo

I don't know about TL, but BB has a cute area for the younger kids. Has a wading area with characters in it that spray water, small water slides, and behind that area is a small waterslide that the kids ride down in an innertube.
There is also an area where water comes up gently out of small holes. I remember watching a baby sitting there completely facinated.

What do you do about your towels and coverups while you are riding/sliding? 9 years ago my DH and I went to WDW on our honeymoon and went to a waterpark every afternoon, back then River Country was open, so we alternated between the three. We didn't have much stuff and we got a locker. We are taking our DD's on a quick trip this weekend and I'm sure we will have more stuff. Do people move your towels and things off of the chairs? I know we will get a locker for camera and wallets, but I was going to bring our own beach towels. Do I need to lock those up also?

We locked our valuables up and kept towels, beach bags, etc. on the chairs and nobody bothered them.
