Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach ??????

I have been going to Disney for several years now but have never visited the water parks. We will be there in July with our grandchildren who are 12 and 7 years old. The 7 year old is 50" so I don't think height is an issue and he will ride anything. The 12 year old is a little more timid to try things so that could be an issue.
My question is which park do you prefer and why ? I was originally going to try Typhoon Lagoon but Blizzard Beach looks fun too.

I was there in April 2004 with my DS14, his friend (13), my DS11, and his friend (12). We went to BB in the morning one day, and TL in the afternoon the same day. The 12-yr-old friend is pretty timid about thrills, but the others love them.

My DS14 liked TL the best. He loved the wave pool most. The rest of us preferred BB. We just liked the slides better -- and there are a lot. There's lots there for all ends of the spectrum -- they're both great, but BB is where we'll head first again next time.

We like TL a little bit more than BB. Main reason is the wave pool. My DD6 absolutely loves it. Also, I like swimming with the sharks. TL now has Crushin'Gusher which is awesome!

BB does have more body slides (of which I don't like).

Both have great kid play areas.

The kids will like either one. Go-you'll have a blast. The water parks are one of our fav. things to do. We even went to BB (TL was closed) in Jan. It was a little cool but we still had a great time. Of course, it'll be warm in July.

Thanks for the help ! I guess I will leave it up to the kids to decide but I am sure we will have fun at either park.
