If TL is having an early entry day, how do they check to make sure resort guests only are allowed in? Do they just check 1 room card/key per family, or does everyone have to have a card, even the kids?

Leaving in 2 weeks from today, so I'm kind of stressing out at the last minute!

Just like at the parks, for a morning EMH they should check that every one has a room card, even the kids. All kids will get a room card, unless they are younger than 3, when you check in. They will need to show this to get into the park early. If you have a package with Disney their park tickets will be encoded on the room key, so they will need this to enter the park anyway.

The Waterpark entrances use the same Biometric systems the parks use. Each person has to enter using his or her KTTW card.

:thumbsup2

I have an AP, and the rest in my group have tickets bought seperately from the room. So, do they scan the tickets AND the room key?

Each resort guest will have a room key with his or her name on it. Normally they will add your tickets to the room keys, but if they don't (like in your case because you have an AP), they will scan the tickets and each guest's room KTTW.

Hope this helps.

If the tickets were bought separately from the room, then you will need to show your room key to get in for the EMH, but it will not be scanned at the entrance. The tickets will be, but not the room key.

I have heard otherwise - that they also scan the room key to verify that it is current. Otherwise, an AP and any old room key would equal EMH regardless of where you stayed....

When we were there last week, at the parks where they actually checked for resort ids before letting you enter the EMH parks, they did not scan the room key if the ticket was a separate item. It takes long enough to scan some of the tickets, let alone having to scan two things. They just looked at the room keys. And at least they did that much.

We were at Blizzard Beach a few days ago and they just asked us if we were staying at a Disney hotel. I said yes and showed my room card, and all six of us were waved through. I'm assuming there is normally more security than that though. :)
