In planning for our trip in, probably, April or May next year I was wondering if you think it'd be worth it to stop in either of these places. First off, my kids will be 4, 5 & 14. No doubt the 14 year old would love it but wonder how you think it'd be for the smaller kids. If there's only one or two things to do for my two youngest than I'd rather not do it at all...I'd just take them to the swimming pool at whatever resort we're staying at. Thank you.

When we went a few years ago we took my then 4 yr old nephew and 9 month old niece to Typhoon Lagoon. They both had a blast! They have a special kids area that was fun, a family slide, the wave pool, and a lazy river. I think the lazy river was my nieces favorite, we put her in tube and she just floated. We have the cutest picture of her with just the biggest toothless smile! I am sure that you would all have fun there.

Typhoon lagoon is like being in the tropics, it is a family favorite for us! Its wonderful and your kids ages should be great for it, great big slides for your teenager and a great kiddie area for the younger ones!

We took our boys (4 and 5) to Blizzard Beach two weeks ago.

One thing of STRONG consideration would be the weather. It was simply not warm enough to really enjoy the water parks two weeks ago. The air temp was 81 on the day we went, but it was windy, and there is actually a lot of shade in the water parks so it did not feel hot at ALL. We were all freezing for 3 hours...

We won't be going back until our boys are MUCH older. While they did have fun, we found the kiddie area at BB to be a nightmare! It had about 4 different entry/exit points, and the part where they had to go up to ride the slides were hidden from view, and there are three slides, so we didn't know which one our boys were on. It was crazy! DH and I felt like we were going to lose the kids. After about 5 min, we left that area!

Plus, regardless of what people say, the water was NOT "warm". It felt very cold to us, especially in the lazy river. It was not nearly as warm as the resort pool (SAB).

I would maybe have one parent take your 14 year old, who will REALLY like it. Wait until the little ones are more independent and WANT to really go (as in, they ask YOU to go).

At this age (4-6), I strongly feel that if you are staying at a resort with a pool slide, they will be good with that. We were staying at Beach Club, and our kids enjoyed that pool more than Blizzard Beach...

There are sections in both parks dedicated to younger children, my only caviat would be that there is no way to bring your children into the typhoon lagoon wave pool, while the blizzard beach wave pool is much safer for hanging out in the shallow parts w/ smaller children. Use youtube to see videos, search ketchakiddee creek for videos of typhoon lagoon or search tike's peak for videos of blizzard beach. Blizzard beach also has a giant tube ride the whole family can ride together, again search teamboat springs for videos. My daughter who was 4 the last time we went enjoyed blizzard beach more.

Mine were 6 and 4 and Typhoon Lagoon was one of our best days at DW. Lots to do. We went in September so heat was no problem. It was certainly hot enough to be in any temperature water. We had no problem in the kiddie area. And DS4 earned his stripes on the bigger slides, then had no problem once we got back to Coronado Springs. It was a rockin' time. We had great lounge chairs but didn't get to use them. :woohoo:
