I have a reservation at Dollar for a minivan (4 adults 2 children with luggage, stroller, ect..) I know that Dollar has Doge Caravans - which is not the bigger minivan and it will not hold all of us and our stuff. I am now looking towards getting a reservation at Alamo - does anyone have any recent experience as to the types of minivans that Alamo has? Also, I heard that Dollar could charge you extra for the larger Town and Country Minivan - it may be worth it for us - does anyone know the extra charge?

uplander is alamos rental car

Yup, we had a Chevy Uplander from Alamo in Feb/Mar. We had 4 adults, 1 child in a booster seat, 4 pieces of large luggage, 1 medium piece and 3 carry on bags. It was a bit tight, but you only have to go from the airport to the hotel and back. You don't drag everything with you every day.

We chose the Uplander however they did have other makes (Dodge & Kia). All are extended base which was a blessing. We had DH, Myself, 18, 12, 10 & 4 (with high-back booster seat). 6 Large Suitecases, 6 Carry Ons, 2 Camera Bags, 1 Purse and a partridge in a pear tree :lmao:

We LOVED our Uplander!

According to their website, you can choose between a 7 passenger Uplander (or similar make) OR an 8 passenger Sienna (or similar make). I hope that they actually have the 8 passenger models, because that is what I have reserved at a higher price than the Uplander.

Can anyone verify that they actually do have 8 passenger minivans in Orlando (MCO)??

Thanks!!

We've had an Uplander the last couple of times through Alamo. Last trip we had 3 adults 4 kids. However most of us took ME to the resort with all of the luggage, strollers, carseats...while DH picked up the minivan and drove to the resort

Both of the Uplanders we rented had DVD players, which was nice for the kids

I'm glad to hear they have cars larger than the caravans - we are actually flying into west palm beach and renting the minivan from there, then we are visiting family and driving up to orlando - so we will be in the car for about 2-3 hours so I want to make sure we all will fit!!
