Well I've decided on the Keystone 310 SRX 5'er for my new camper. The dealer offered me a hitch for $1,300 installed but a friend called tonight who had a 5'er and said he has a Pullrite 3300 Superglide for sale. He used it once to pull a trailer from Arizona to Florida and put it up. He offered it to me for $800 which is a steal. Even the dealer said to jump on that. This slider requires no getting out before you back up.

Well the camper has been decided and I'm waiting to see if I get approved so wish me luck. This is a toy hauler so it will be a multi use camper and it is so nice inside. Thanks to the poster who suggested this unit a few weeks back. It fits me to a tee.

That does sound like a steal. We just bought our 5'er and hitch early in January 2007 and the hitch was $1300.00 with the brake controller included ( cost for the brake controller was $100-125).Of course we still have to get out to slide it back.
I think the brake controller cost is about the same wherever you go.
I mention the Controller so that you plan on getting one if needed. I don't know if your friend is including it or if there are any compatability issues to be considered .I wouldn't tow mine without one but, 38 ft is alot of trailer to stop without the brake assist.Congrats on the 5'er time for a ROAD TRIP. We bought our
5'er and had it delivered on a Monday, had the hitch installed on Thursday and arrived at FW on Saturday. We just couldn't wait!!

I didn't even notice you were from St. Augustine. I am hoping the financing goes thru now. I am self employed and owned my business for 13 years but it's always tough when you apply for credit still. If it doesn't go thru it wasn't meant to be for now. I'm putting 10k down so hopefully they will look at that and see nobody throws 10k away and that makes a difference. My aunt has a 35' Holiday Rambler TT. It has a super slide and if it was a toy hauler I would try and get hers. Her husband used it in GA at his hunt camp but he passed away last year and I brought it home for her. It's a 97 but it's only been used maybe 25 times.

I have a brake control for my TT so I'm good on that. The only worry now is if the friends rails are compatible with my truck. He has an F-250 and I have a Chevy 3/4 ton crew cab. If it's not the same I may consider trying to get the dealer to install it for free. Their as says free hitch so if this is a little different they have the parts to make it work. Just gotta get that far lol.

Well good luck, It sounds like you have done everything to make it happen.DW has been self employed for 15 years in Jax so I get it.
Just remember the immortal words from our happy place "There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow".

Donnie, first off, Good Luck with the camper. Second, the Superglide is the Cadillac of slider hitches. I had one on a F-250 that I just sold to a friend. He bought my hitch along with the truck. Its a great hitch!

You mentioned that your friend's truck is a F-250 and you have a Chevy. If he indeed has the Super Rails, they will not be compatible with your truck. You will have to buy either the universal mount or the rails that will be specific for your truck. Either way, if you can swing it, it WILL be worth it in the long run.

I have a friend who just got one of those "free" slider hitches the dealer was going to throw in. He wishes now he had gotten the Pullrite. Just the piece of mind that you will not have to get out and fool around with manually sliding the hitch into the manuevering mode is worth the cost difference. I'm not slamming the other hitches out there, just saying that I've seen them both in action, and would go with the Pullrite everytime.

Heck, I'm getting ready to install a Pullrite Super 5th in my new long bed truck.

The hitch pulled a camper from Arizona to Jacksonville. Once lol. I got the approval from the bank today. I'll post more later.
