My DH and I went looking for a stroller to take with us to DW next month. Our DD is going to be 5 and weighs only 39 pounds and 42 inches tall. We really don't want to take our bulky stroller or rent one at the parks. We will be there for 9 days. What is a good inexpensive one that does not cost a lot of money, because she may never use it again. We want her to be comfortable. Any suggestions.

A MacClaren Volo stroller is great for the weight range. I bought one last year when DD was 4 and it worked great. I am taking it this year, but just for MK and Epcot. I am going to have her walk the other 2 smaller parks.
You can get one of a older model cheaper on e-bay. I got mine (2006 model) on ebay, new it was $59.99. I wish i would have had one all along, it is a great umbrella stroller. I am tall and normal stroller arms are too short and I get a backache after a couple of hours, but not with this stroller.

We got a super cheap umbrella stroller from Target for $15! (The cost of a one day rental at DW). My 4 year old daughter was right at the 40 pound weight limit but she did fine. She never complained about it and it was light and compact to drag onto the bus etc.

Does anyone ever just take their regular stroller? All we have is our travel system stroller and to be honest, I don't want to go buy a stroller just for this trip. Like someone else said, my DH and I are both really tall and after an hour or so, our backs are breaking from leaning over to reach the handles on an umbrella stroller. I know it will be bulky to fold up and take on buses, but has anyone else ever done that?

We used a Maclaren Triumph for DD 4.7 last week and it worked well - perfect to be exact. I love the rain hood, however we forgot to take it and it got soaked. Dried quickly and canopy was waterproof so that was never a problem. Saw lots of cheapo umbrella strollers with younger kids and they did the job well too so it depends on how much use you plan to get out of it. Usually the smaller umbrella strollers don't support kids over a certain weight, which is why we went with the Triumph.

After researching all the different types of strollers, you are correct. We got our travel system out and our DD can still fit into it.

We took it 4 years ago when she was only 1 and to save on money, we are going to go ahead and take it again. Since we are driving down, it won't be as much as a hassle.
