I was just going to ask this very same question. A DVC member just returned from AKL and upgraded to a suite and they asked her if she wanted to pay cash for the upgrade or use points.
Does anyone know if you can book a suite at WDW with points and how many pts it takes for various suites?
I think you might have been referring to me. I did book AKL concierge on points and did ask about upgrading to a one bedroom suite. You are unable to do it with points, but the AKL did tell me if there was availability at check-in, I could pay the per night difference in cash.
Someone recently stayed at AKL and had a concierge room booked. They stayed in that the first night and then moved to a suite for the rest of the nights. I thought this particular poster said when they were paying for the upgrade the front desk asked if they wanted to do it in points and the OP declined and then said he/she should have at least asked how many points it would have taken.
Was that you?
It was a recent stay. I think the OP's DH had business in the Orlando area or something.
It sounds like you can't book a suite through MS but you possibly can upgrade to one if it's available when you check-in by using cash or points.
No, that wasn't me. I did ask, and was told by concierge, that points weren't an option, and that I'd have to pay cash for any upgrade from conciege. Oh well, would be nice if we could use points for suites!!!!
Yes if you look at the point charts for the Disney hotels, you will see different point values for the different levels available. The different views, have different cash prices, and different point values, Concierge is the same way.
