type of markers on a pillowcase

My sons would like their pillowcases autographed by the characters instead of in an autograph book. To ensure permanency, should we use sharpies or fabric markers?

Either should work well. Make sure you take a piece of cardboard about 4 x 6to use as a hard surface while the characters are autograhing.

Thank you! I've never used fabric markers before, so I was a little worried. I know sharpies are permanent, but I wasn't sure how permanent.
