tylenol recall question

I have two bottles of rolaids that are part of the tylenol recall. I don't just want to throw them out. Do I take them back to the store and they give me a refund or a replacement? I don't have a receipt for them.

Generally, recalls don't need a receipt. They shouldn't, at least.

When I called the number, there was not info on returning products, only disposing. I am going to call my local Walmart to see if there is a way to get a refund. We buy the large Motrin which is over $12 a bottle. I hate to throw all that money in the garbage, but may have to!

Most companies will give you a refund on recall items even without a receipt. The company who issues the recall makes it perfectly clear to the stores to take all returns and they will be reimbursed. At the store I work at, I personally pulled the recall and it was stated on the recall.

I do not know Walmart's policy, but I would guess based on the fact it is a recall from the manufacturer, that Walmart sells in larger quantities both the rolaids, the tylenol and the motrin they will refund you the money. Right now there isn't anything to 'exchange' them with unless you want to go with Advil or Tums.

UPDATE

I called tylenol company directly. They are issuing me a coupon to replace the bottle. I didn't want to go to walmart and deal with them (that is where I had bought my rolaids). Anyway, the guy was very nice, wanted to know the lot number and upc number and said that the coupon will arrive in 7 to 10 business days and to just throw out my bottle, which I will when I receive the coupon.
