Two Weeks of Disney Dining UPDATED 1/29 CRT

I love all the photos and delicious looking plates...

i am so ready to go back to Disney..

thanks for the reviews and photos

That night for dinner we got food from Landscape of Flavors again.

DF had a burger;

He got it with the usual toppings of cheese, lettuce, and tomato. He must've liked it as he got burgers several more times from there throughout the trip.

DM and I split two sandwiches. The portions are huge, and one would've probably been enough, but we couldn't decide between the salmon club and the caprese sandwich, so we got both. We had a lot of credits to use too anyway.

Salmon club;

This was a nice piece of slamon on a croissant, with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce. It usually has bacon too, but we had that left off.

Caprese sandwich;

This was tomato, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic sauce on ciabatta bread.

Both sandwiches were extremely good and filling. I know DM especially liked the caprese sandwich, and we had that again later in the trip as well.

Both sandwiches came with a choice of coleslaw or chips, and we decided to try both. The chips were freshly made and very good. The coleslaw was fine, but paled in deliciousness to the rest of the food.

The only dessert we got that night which I have a picture of is a brownie;

They had several different "speciality" brownies each day, this one had nuts and caramel, and was probably my favorite of the brownies we tried.

Our third full day we spent at Magic Kingdom, but before heading there we shared a waffle platter from Everything Pop.

DM, DD, and I each had a waffle and ate some fruit, and I think DF and DD ate some of the bacon and sausage, but I don't think it all got eaten. The waffles were good though, and the perfect size for DD to have her own. She was kind of going through this phase of "I'm a big girl I can do it myself" during our trip, and one thing she was really big on, was feeding herself.

We got this many times throughout the trip, and they were always good.

Lunch that day was at Be Our Guest Restaurant. We had managed to get a Fast Pass, and I was super excited for it, as Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie.

We didn't have any wait to enter the castle, and there was only a short wait for us to order our food, which we didn't do in advance as I had had no idea what anyone would've wanted. The whole process was pretty easy and they had many cast members assisting guests with the ordering process.

We got a seat in the library room, as I'd read that was only open at lunch, and we had a dinner at Be Our Guest later that trip to be seated in one of the other rooms, though in hindsight, the ballroom is by far my favorite.

We got both soups with snack credits, which are not only an excellent value, but could also make a meal themselves, and next time I eat there, I might just eat soup, they're that good!

The potato-leek soup;

This was very good, rich and creamy and very tasty. DM and I split this, I think DF may have tried it, but I know DM and I ate most of it.

The French onion soup;

As good as the potato-leek soup was, this was even better! DM and I were both excited that this was vegetarian, as most French onion soups are made with beef broth, and this soup was amazing. There was a lot of cheese, a nice size hunk of bread, and a wonderful rich broth full of onions. I seriously can not express how good this soup was, and I know if DM could post here, she would say the same.

DF had the braised pork for his entree;

It had lots of veggies, and came with green beans and mashed potatoes. DF said it was good.

DM and I shared two entrees;

the tuna nicoise salad;

and the vegetable quiche;

The tuna nicoise salad has potatoes, green beans, peppers, and a hard-boiled egg, as well as three slices of nicely seared tuna. It was well prepared, and a nice light entree, which was probably a good thing with the rich soups we had.

The quiche was tasty as well. According to the menu it contained mushrooms, zucchini, bell peppers, and onion. It also came with a small side of greens with champagne vinaigrette, which we had on the side, and I'm glad we did, as if there was one thing I did not like about the meal, it was that dressing, it was just a little too vinegary for me.

For dessert we shared three cupcakes.

The triple chocolate;

The lemon meringue;

and the Master's;

The triple chocolate was extremely rich and (I can't believe I'm saying this,) almost too chocolaty. The lemon was nice and light and a nice contrast to the heavy richness of the chocolate one. The Master's cupcake was the one I had to try, for the "grey stuff," and it was good, though my favorite of the three was the lemon, and I think it was DM's favorite as well.

Overall Be Our Guest was lovely, and lunch was wonderful. I'll be reviewing the dinner we had there later in the trip as well, which was even better, but Be Our Guest deserves it's popularity.

fantastic review..

Thanks so much for doing this ..especially for our "non-Meat eaters"..
I found the vegetarian and seafood-heavy reviews to be so helpful while planning our trip that I knew I had to do a review upon our return.

Enjoying your reviews so far, thank you for sharing. All those things you got at F&W look amazing!
It was all really good this year.

Love the F&W reviews! Can't wait to return this year.
Hopefully I can get back for it this year too!

YUM! Looks good. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for reading!

great review so far - thanks!
Thank you!

thanks for the reviews and photos
I'm ready to go back as well!

That pumpkin and pecan pie looks awesome, hope they have it next fall :thumbsup2
I think they will, they had it in 2013 as well, so if it was popular enough to bring back last year, I think it would be available again. And also we're tentatively planning another November trip, and I want to eat more of them!

Just found your review and am really enjoying it! We stayed at AOA last year and really liked Landscape of Flavors. We did 2 breakfasts, lunch, 2 dinners and one late night snack there which is more than we've eaten at any other resort food court as we felt LOF was definitely much better than the others we've experienced.

I actually didn't care for it that much the first year it opened when I stayed at AOA, but this trip it was amazing for a food court. There was only one meal I had there that I wasn't crazy about.

Loving this foodie report. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading!

This wasn't a real meal by our standards, this was more a snack that we had after getting back from the park around 5:00 since we weren't having dinner until 9:30, and we had eaten lunch at 10:30.

The cheese-pesto flatbread:

This tasted good, but it was very oily.

Babycakes vegan and gluten-free brownie bites:

I got these for dessert many times my last trip, but only once this trip. DM and I both enjoyed them. I know they lasted in our fridge a few days as we would share one at a time anytime we wanted a bite of chocolate.

Overall a decent use of a quick service credit, but our real dinner was still to come!

Your pictures are making me hungry! Great shots. Looking forward to the rest!:)

Originally when we planned the trip we thought one princess meal would be enough, so we only booked Akershus. Then I started thinking about it, and I decided with not knowing when our next trip would be together, that I really wanted DD to be able to eat in the castle at least once.

I had eaten at Cinderella's Royal Table several times before, and I think this was my fifth time there. It was DM's second time there, but the first time had been years ago when she was a child. DF was unfortunately not feeling that well so decided to skip dinner and stay at the resort to rest. The next two days actually turned into a mess of sick days for us, with myself, and thankfully DD, being the only two never to get sick and miss out on meals, though the two days DM and DF did get sick were our two pre-planned no park days, and at least three of us always felt well enough to keep our ADRs intact.

So it was just me, DM, and DD for dinner. Our ADR was for 9:30, with Wishes at 9:00. We watched Wishes from what used to be the location of Dumbo, thinking we could just walk straight into the castle after they were over, but with firework cleanup, we didn't get in until closer to 10:00.

The CMs at CRT were wonderful. We had no problem getting a refund for DF, and also getting our credit card refunded the TIW discount for my and DM's meals.

We got our picture taken with Cinderella right away, and with a short wait to be seated in an uncrowded lobby got some extra face time with Cinderella.

The dining room was incredibly uncrowded once we were seated, so they must only reserve a small number of tables that late at night. Being a night owl at home, the late dinner didn't bother me, and DD did great, but DM was starting to not feel well. In hindsight I honestly think she only pushed through dinner because she knew I had prepaid for it and how excited I was for the castle.

Our waitress was super! She brought DD a wand and a bowl of fresh fruit, and took extra good care of DM who got progressively worse throughout the night, including bringing us several bottles of water before leaving so DM had something to drink on the bus.

The princesses that night were Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, and Merida. I was excited to see Merida there as we had no intention of waiting in her line during the day. DM and I like the princesses, but DD just doesn't get excited about the face characters yet, as they're just regular people to her, whereas Minnie Mouse she knows is a big deal. Though she did really like Anna and Elsa when we met them, (though with how many times DM and I have watched Frozen and listened to Let It Go, I'm thinking them she might've recognized.) Still, she was good for pictures, she enjoys having her picture taken now and will be a diva for the camera, which is so much better then when DM and I used to take about a dozen shots each and hope for one or two good ones in the bunch.

The princesses were wonderful, especially Ariel and Merida. Ariel who put up with DD trying to grab the jeweled shell off her dress, (this is shiny, so it must be for babies,) and Merida for saying DD eats the way her brothers eat when DD threw some bread on the floor.

Not caring what we ate for dinner, and liking exactly the same things as me, (DM is seriously the best person to have around to share food with,) DM let me choose everything off the menu.

The cheese plate;

The cheese was good, but it was a very basic selection of blue, cheddar, and goat cheese. I think I was too spoiled from the cheese plates from the Food and Wine Festival to really care about this, but they still got eaten.

Shrimp and grits;

This was so good! It was also very rich, so I'm glad we were sharing one portion between the two of us. The bbq sauce the shrimp were in was very sweet, and the goat cheese and grits were very creamy.

Fish of the day;

The fish that night was salmon, which was prepared well. I forget what the green sauce was, but I think the other accompaniments were black lentils and shaved fennel. It was good, but we didn't eat much of it as DM was failing fast and wanted to get out of there, so we took most of it to go.

Roasted vegetable gnocchi;

The salmon was good, but the gnocchi was my favorite of the two entrees. The seasonal gnocchi were sweet potato, and absolutely delicious, and just as gnoochi are supposed to be, light and fluffy dumplings, and not dense at all. The rest of the bowl was filled with eggplant, mushrooms, onions, and squash, in a brown butter sauce, topped with fried leeks and shaved goat cheese that just kind of melted into the rest of the dish. It was absolutely perfect!

For dessert we had the "clock strikes twelve,"

It tasted just as good as it looks! It was basically a white chocolate mousse on a chocolate cookie crust covered in more chocolate.

We also had the dessert trio;

That night it was, (from right to left,) raspberry cheesecake, pistachio cream, and flourless chocolate cake. All of them were very good as well, I particularly enjoyed the cheesecake and cream.

We actually ended up taking most of the food back to our resort with us as DM was really not doing well by the end of the meal, most of both the entrees and desserts came back with us, which I picked at a little, but DF was feeling better by the time we got back and ate some as well.

Having such a late dinner, which went to over an hour past Magic Kingdom's closing we left an empty park, and I wanted to share this shot that I got on the way out with you.

The next morning no one was that hungry, but I went down to the food court to get DD some fruit. It made more sense to use a meal credit than a snack since we still had an insane amount of meals, and at that point I was starting to wonder if we would ever use them all up.

On the dining plan you have two options for counter service meals; either an entree or a drink, or a piece of fruit, pasty, and drink. I asked the CM working if the containers of grapes counted as a piece of fruit since we already had several bananas in the room, and she said that was perfectly fine. For our drink I grabbed a bottle of juice, with our refillable mugs it made much more sense to use the drink included with the meal on the more expensive bottled drinks; Simply Orange juice, Monster energy drinks, (only DF drank those,) Fuze drinks, and Odwalla smoothies, which I don't remember seeing at Pop, but that's what DM and I usually grabbed when we ate at Art of Animation.

For our pastry, which I split with DM as DF doesn't like sweets, we got a cheese danish.

Wow you eat a diet very similar to mine, as I also eat a seafood and vegetarian diet. I am loving seeing all of your pictures. The F&W booths look so good! I keep hoping we'll make it for that time of year, but we never do. The scallop is something I could go for right now! :yay:

WPE has had this for years, but it's changed in execution. It used to have whole tomato slices topped with goat cheese, and now it uses crushed tomatoes with a melted cheese blend. Either way it was still really good.

FYI - You CAN get the 4 Cheese Pesto made "the old way". Just ask when you order. I do!

I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the food from CRT! We've never eaten there - I've "made" my DS's do Akershus twice "for mom" but now unfortunately they're past the age of doing things just for me willingly, so I don't know that I'll ever have the chance :sad1: . And so cool that Merida was there! I love her and that's the first I've heard of her being at any meal.

And that last pic of Main St.......priceless :tink:For some reason I think its more magical seeing it empty at night than when you see a picture of it empty first thing in the morning!

They seem to make the festival longer every year. I think this year it's going through the entire first half of November.

Good to know!

I had never heard of Merida being there before either. And do CRT! Tell your boys to just suck it up and deal with it! :) And I've seen it empty in the morning before, but never at night, and this was truly beautiful, especially with the lights.

Later that morning DF and I took DD to Downtown Disney while DM was resting before DF's family arrived to hang out with us for the day. We had an early lunch at Rainforest Cafe. I had been to the Animal Kingdom location one before, but never Downtown Disney's.

For my meal I had the pita quesadillas.

It would usually have chicken, but I had it without. It did have roasted peppers, onions and cheese in pita bread, which was different than the tortillas I'm used to quesadillas being made with, but it was good.

DF had the "taste of the islands," which was a seafood trio.

It had Caribbean coconut shrimp, tilapia with mango salsa and scallops and shrimp in a rich cheesy sauce with fries. This was pretty tasty. Everything was well prepared, and there were no complaints.

After lunch we walked around a couple stores, and I got two coffee mugs I had been eyeing that week before heading back to Pop for the rest of the afternoon.
