Yes, DH bought radios to use for camping a few years back, and then got hit with an FCC tax that cost more than the radios! I was assuming cell phones would work well at Disney. Don't they?

I'm sorry I'm from canada, my cell would cost way too much, anyway i found another thread which suggested prepaid -disposable cells that are only $8-12.00 but are these available for anyone, and would walmart or k-mart have these?Or should I go else where? thx

My neighbours bought some walkie talkies for our trip in 2008. I was given one to talk with them.

Sometimes it was handy, other times not. Like when I'm in the Animation building doing a sketch and they wanted to meet up with me. Would have been handy to know where the off button was. So embarassing as they kept talking even after I said I was in a class and they were interupting it.

tried it about 5 yrs ago... useless too many people talking on the same freqentcies and you would never hear them inside a ride. They may be ok now that everyone is probably using cell phones. can u text instead of calling?

I use an ATT pre-paid phone and the cheapest ones I have seen at walmart or target are around $20 and they come with some airtime. There are other companies available there, but I don't know anything about their pricing, etc.

Two way radios are unreliable in the parks. You can buy a couple of tracfones at just about any store in the US.

wal mart has a huge selection of prepaid phones from many different carriers.

just dont go in there an blind buy the cheapest one, you will need to make sure you get reception.
