How effective are two way radios at DL and could they be used anywhere in the resort area? I understand that the more buildings there are between you and the one calling, the distance is shorter for reception-not the two miles listed on the box.

There is electronic interference from buildings and all the devices in the parks, so 2 miles is not doable. We use Motorolas at Disneyland, with the supposed 2-mile range, and we can sometimes reach from onsite-resort on an upper floor to the park if the person in the park is outside and not around something with alot of shielding, or behind a huge obstacle. Even in the parks there is some interference if you have buildings or steel structures between you. Our biggest problem is finding a clear band - you will be sharing with many others. But it certainly helps! Good luck!

We have some we got and they do pretty good here at home. We dont have buildings per say but we do have a lot of wooded area. :)
Im hoping they work in DL :/ I bought them so my son could go over to the swimming pool (about a mile+ away) and I can hear him (it isnt totally clear but I can understand him) when he is in the pool building.
Ours are the 14 channel ones and then there is like 36 sub channels.
