We just got back last week from 5 nights at CR and since we got in late afternoon we didn't do a park day the first day. Instead, we took the boat over to FW and ate at Trail's End then stayed for the campfire sing-a-long. The food was awesome and our server was great! He saw that I was loving the sweet tea so he brought me a big to go cup of it when we paid our check. DH loved the pork roast and we all loved the chicken. Ribs were so-so, side dishes were all yummy. DD7 loved the make your own sundae bar. She had also grabbed a rice crispie treat and a brownie that of course she couldn't eat, so our waiter told us to take them for a snack later which we did. I would totally recommend this place!

My only gripe and it's not about Trail's End in particular, but all the buffets. It does irk me that they raise the buffet prices during "holiday" season. I know it's probably good business for them, but it still annoys me, that's an extra $12 at each buffet for the 3 of us...$20 for a family of 5 so it could add a lot to the food budget. We actually cancelled 2 buffets and got reservations at sit down places instead.

I agree about Trails End! A very tasty place to eat. I wish there was an easier way to get there. I'm in a wheelchair and I really don't like taking the boat-creeps me out a little :scared:

We want to go again this year but the schedule just doesn't seem to be working out for us.

Yeah the boat can be a little tricky, especially if you're in a wheelchair I'm sure! We had no problems going over, but going back there were tons of people who were leaving the campfire so we had to wait for a 2nd boat to come along. DH just mentioned again today how good the food was so it must have been really good because we avoid buffets at home like the plaque!

I was so happy to see this post. For our upcoming July trip, we decided to try Trails End for the first time. My kids love buffet's and I am sure they will like this one. especially the sundae bar!

I must say I made a pig of myself here! We were walk-ups at 4:30 when dinner was just starting this past Jan. There were very few people there maybe 4 or 5 tables.

My DH looked at me with awe and wonder as I was digging into my second plate of food and he was still on his first :worship:

I don't usually eat like this but for whatever reason this day I was famished and they were serving fried chicken!

I know Trails End gets some harsh reviews but the price for what you get and have I mentioned the chicken....we will be back again for this coming Jan.

Peace.:hippie:
