Day Three: Sunday, October 20, 2002 (My Birthday!!!!!)
I wake up at 5am this day because Im so very excited about my birthday at WDW!!!!!!!! (I know, Im now 27 years old, but you never lose your excitement about WDW). We get dressed and finish packing up all our stuff since we arranged to have the bellman pick up our bags at 7am in order to send them over to GF to wait for us. We are out the door by 7am just as the bellman arrives and we say goodbye to our nice little room at CSR for the last time and catch a bus to MK so that we can use the monorail to GF. When a bus came there was no one in it, only one couple got on the bus besides us. So the driver asked were we were going and the couple said MK and we told him our plan to get to GF. He told us that after he dropped them off he would take us straight to GF! That was so nice! By the way while on the bus DH wrote on the window with his finger, since the window were all fogged up, he wrote Mikey (Mike) heart (loves) Winnie (Wendy). In other words, he loves me. It was sweet. So we arrive at the front doors of GF and immediately start taking photos. We have a PS character breakfast here at 8am at Park Fare so we are all ready to go. We went ahead and checked for our room since it was 7:30am and a little early for breakfast. My DH asked me to go look for the restrooms or something so that he could tell the CM about my birthday and make sure they got my fax request on what room we wanted with a view of the castle. I come back and the first question I ask is if they got my fax request and she said yes and so I immediately ask if we knew what room we would be in and she and DH exchanged looks and she says, its the room you asked for and I ask you mean one with a view?!!!! She says yes! I was so excited, but DH was mad that I cant be surprised for nothing. Oh well, we head over to breakfast and they let us in a little early. As we walk into the room, there is Mary Poppins and Bert standing at the door to greet people as they come, so without having to wait in a line to see them, we got a quick photo. We get seated right away and grab our food before any characters get to the table. They had wonderful buffet here. I know that I had some ham from the buffet and the cheesy potatoes. I also had a made-to-order omelet, which was wonderful! As we were eating here comes Alice from Alice in Wonderland, then Tigger, then Pooh and we got all kinds of photos. It was really cute because next to our table was a family with a little girl around 4 years old and when Tigger came to her table, which she was waiting for since they arrived, she exclaimed, Tigger, I watch all your shows! It was so cute I teared up! Then we saw another special moment. At another table there was a young child in a wheel chair and he couldnt really move much and so all the characters took extra long time with him and even sat on the floor next to him to hang out a while. One of the boys little 2 year old sister was fascinated with Pooh Bear and kept running into Poohs stomach and legs and bouncing off, it was so cute. So as we are finishing breakfast, here comes another birthday cake and song. This time it was truly deserved, heck it WAS my birthday today! I was so excited as we left breakfast I was tearing when I told my DH that this was the best day, the perfect room, perfect breakfast, it was all so practically perfect in every way! We headed off to Epcot where we planned to spend the morning since it was MNSSHP that evening and wanted to take a midday nap and check in our room when it was ready prior to that. So we head off to Epcot and I was able to ride up front the monorail with a family of three. Only four people can ride up front the monorail, so DH stayed in the back. The first ride we entered was Test Track. This was a first for DH and he absolutely loved it! So much so, that he wanted to go back on it, so I let him go as a single rider while I waited at the exit. I like the ride too, but not enough to go on it over and over again. After finally talking him out of riding it a third time we got a fast pass for it to come back later on and headed to body wars. I felt as if I was dragging a four year-old away from their favorite toy. We headed to Mousegears to look around and found many items we decided to go ahead and purchase and when we got to the front I whipped out the Disney club card only to be turned down again, but at least this cast member was nice enough to tell us where we could use it at and that was DTD. So we decided after I explained to DH that according to changes in our plans and the itinerary, we were due to spend all day Monday, tomorrow here at Epcot, and so with that we left and headed to DTD. In order to get to DTD from Epcot, you have to go to a hotel and transfer by bus from there. So we headed back to GF and while we were heading up to the monorail station inside GF, a guy came in with free tickets to the Golf Classic that was going on at that moment. Today was the last day of it too. I immediately ran over to him and grabbed two, even though I find golf very boring, I know that my husband absolutely loves golf. So I figured we could discuss it later, just get them now. So we go downstairs to the bus stop and decide what to do. If we went to the Golf thing we would need to walk over to it and it was getting mighty hot and humid outside and since it was already close to noon I was getting hungry again. Rule of thumb: if Im tired, hungry and hot, Im not in a good mood, and DH knows this all too well. So we debated what to do, because we knew this would be our only time today to go to Golf and I didnt want to take a great opportunity like this away from DH, but then again I didnt want to be stuck over there forever and we wanted to stick together on whatever our decision. So we decided whatever bus shows up next will decide for us, since there were many different ones coming by for AK or MGM or the waterparks. Luckily the next one that came up was DTD, so off we went. Yeah! We decided to eat first and I had wanted to go into a Rainforest Café for quite some time now and so we decided on that. It was noon but hardly crowded so we put our name on a list and about 5 minutes later they called us, of course not before we were able to sit on the cool bar stools at the bar in the shapes of different animals. I loved the Rainforest Café; so much to look at, the sky, storm that comes through, total environment was awesome! The food was unbelievable. I had heard some things about bad food at this place, but it was wonderful and my DH is a picky eater too. We had the fried cheese sticks for appetizer and then DH ordered a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad and I had the Rasta Pasta. It was fantastic! So good we even asked for a to go box to take what we couldnt finish with us for later on. As we left we went to World of Disney most wonderful store on the planet and we bought all our souviners we were spotting the past two days. Which of course included a big Winnie the Pooh. Every trip Ive ever made to WDW I have to spend at least $50 on a big stuffed animal just to carry home, and I decided on Winnie this time, even though I already had this size its just about the tradition of it all. So we gather all our prizes and shirts and wonderful gifts and head out to the bus stop to go back to the GF. I think it was around 2pm or 2:30pm by the time we got to the GF and we were hoping our room was ready at this point. So we check in at the front and they say it hasnt been cleaned yet but could check to see if another room was available for us to get into right now. DH was about to agree with this, when I stepped up and say, no, we will wait for our perfect room. The CM said that it was a smart idea because the only other ones available arent as nice as the one we are scheduled to have. Its an MK room is what he called our room. So I was happy to wait forever and went to sit down on the couch with all our bags. Then I realized that I had my watch here somewhere since it was supposed to arrive around 1 or 2pm the day after you purchase it. So I go off hunting down where the shop was that was holding it while DH stayed on the couch with our stuff. As soon as I got the watch I wanted to put it on and decided it would be more practical to keep it in the box for safe keeping till I got home another thing to look forward to later on. After about three different checks at the front desk and multiple cast members, around 4pm we finally get our room ready. It wasnt until about 3pm and our third time to ask did the one CM state that he would put a rush on our room cleaning. I wish the CM that morning would had done that at 7am and then maybe we could had gotten in our midday nap prior to MNSSHP. As it was, we barely had enough time to unpack, check out the room and get ready for our PS at 6:15pm at LTT. We are introduced to a bellman who finds our luggage and loads us up on a golf cart to take us to the room. It was in Conch Key right next to Narcossees. We were on the second floor closest to the boat dock and Narcossees in room 7231. I walked in and was so happy. I couldnt believe it, it was the exact copy of the room photo that I found somewhere on the internet and had put in my fax request, I mean the exact room! I immediately went to the curtains to open them up and look out our balcony and there it was the castle! I couldnt believe it and theres Space Mountain and over to my right was the Contemporary. I was so happy, I started to take the photos. I was in heaven! I had waited for a room like this for so long. Then DH comes over to me and says, I thought that Princesses were supposed to live in the Castle! Hes so sweet! So we unpack and get ready to just head over to MK, since we were going to try out using the boat right outside our room for the first time. We get on it and it first takes us to Polynesian and then to MK, so we decide not to use it again to get to MK, it would be quicker to use Monorail to get to MK, but to come back from MK, the boat was quicker, since GF is its first stop. So we go up to the gate and the CM goes ahead and puts on our wristbands. We get in on Main Street and they are already diverting people without wristbands out of the park and we head over to LTT. I think it was about 6pm at this time when we checked into LTT and we didnt wait but for a minute for them to call our names. While we waited we examined the menu of Ham, Turkey, Beef and then Mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, macaroni and mixed veggies. It was to be served family style and I was thinking, yummy. While DH was not too impressed and started thinking he was not going to like anything. I asked if he wanted to just grab something else somewhere else and he says no. While we were in the lobby, we see an adult couple dressed as Mickey and Minnie and they ended up sitting close to us, so I took their picture. Many people were dressed up as they walked in and we started to notice that all of the wait staff had their faces painted in the best ways! They seated us and got our drinks and food to us right away. Once DH tried the beef, which was really like beef fajita meat, he was happy, he even asked for seconds of it. I ate pretty much everything and loved it all. We had Chip, Dale, Goofy and Minnie making the rounds and they were dressed up too! A couple was sitting right next to us and they were taking photos of themselves with the characters and finally asked us to take one of them for them and so we just decided we would swamp everytime the characters came around, they would take the photo for us with our camera and we took the one of them with their camera. So it was nice. We finally leave and on the way out I stopped in the restroom where another adult Minnie and her son, buzz lightyear were waiting in front of us in the line. Little Buzz was explaining to everyone who would listen about his cool costume and how he has two of them and this was the one that lights up and so he showed us all waiting how it lit up. We were all very impressed and thought he was adorable. On the way out I saw a couple sitting in the lobby wearing the coolest Fantasia hat that lights up. I asked where they got them and they said on Main Street, so I knew I had to get one, even though I only had $20 left of my souvenir money I had brought with me. We get outside the restaurant and its about 6:45pm and the street is empty except the other guests who were eating with us and were standing out there. We walked over to HM so we could ride that first and there was a rope there and a CM who asked us to stand back, so we sat on a little brick wall waiting for the ropes to drop, (where else could we go?) and behind us there were a ton of people who all had their wristbands on behind a rope waiting to get in where we were. I was glad I had made the PS reservations at LTT. Finally they dropped the rope to HM and we walked in and soon after the other people were released as well. Needless to say DH and I were the first ones on the HM that night and what a better way to start off the MNSSHP! After this we head over to Splash Mountain and didnt wait, just walked on in and had the prettiest view at the top of the mountain of the entire park and the green lighted HM with the big ghost balloons flying around the park and the big full moon out that night. Too bad we didnt take that picture. Then its time for the rest of the mountains. Now something yall need to understand is that Splash Mountain was a big deal for DH last time were were here, he doesnt do coasters too well and isnt too fond of heights either. But I told him that if he loved the fast part of Test Track so much, then he would love Thunder Mountain. So we tried it and the whole way up the mountain to get on he kept asking, so what is it like again, is it hard? Just like a little kid. Well, we got right on and he loved it! So I told him if that was fun, then try Space Mountain because its just like that but in the dark. So we walk over to Space and on the way I found the cart that was selling the Fantasia hat. So I told the CM at the cart that Ill take it even though I had no idea how much. It was $35 and I only had $20, so I did the pouty lip and DH said get it and while your at it get that MNSSHP light up necklace too and also the MNSSHP glow in the dark pin. I was so happy and thankful to DH!!! I was so excited because we had never been able to ride this together. He loved this ride as well! So then we get on Buzz and DH beats me again on points, but I think its because my button was broken. Next we do Alien Encounter with no wait and then get our MNSSHP free photo taken right afterwards. We grabbed some candy while we were walking around so I could munch on those too. We headed over to the castle just to walk around and realized that there was a great place to sit down by the castle on a bridge with a bench and it was so pretty to watch it from there. Then we heard someone say there would be fireworks soon, so we decided to stay there. We had missed them the other night and DH really wanted to see Tinks flight, even though tonight would be a witch instead. So we saw the witch and heard the fireworks through the trees that were blocking our way and decided to move over behind the castle to see the fireworks, better. It was beautiful. After this we are getting so tired because we hadnt had any midday naps so far on the trip and we are exhausted due to late nights and early mornings. So we head back to the hotel by way of boat. I was upset we left so early, but I was just as tired. It was a quick ride and we just took the stairs right up to our room. I went straight out to the balcony to see the beautiful castle with the ghosts lighting on it. I could hear the song from HM from my balcony, which they played in the park for the MNSSHP. You could actually hear the hurry back, be sure to bring your death certificate. It was too cool, so I had to call my sisters, cousin, mom and dad to tell them all about it and they could hear it too through the phone! I was getting ready to put on my pajamas to get a little more comfortable when my DH tells me that he has a surprise for me and that I cant get undressed yet, because he ordered Mickey and Minnie to come to the room for my bday, but I knew this was a lie, who could really do that? So I wait and then theres a knock at the door and its room service of strawberries and chocolate sauce to dip them in. Strawberries are my absolute favorite! It was so sweet of DH to do that. I ate them all right up and then stood on the balcony for a while, until the mosquitoes were unbareable. I came in and left the curtains open so that I could watch the castle as I went to bed, just as I dreamed I would get to do one day.
On the Next Day, Stay Tuned: Will Mike and Wendy wakeup in time for their Princess Breakfast in EPCOT? Will Mike get to ride Test Track 3 times in one day as he was determined to do? Will Mike finally buy Wendy the Figment stuffed animal that shes been wanting? Will they finally get in a midday nap? Will they get to do all of EPCOT in one day as planned? Will the GF leave them a surprise gift?

Will the GF leave them a surprise gift?
what a magical day. Glad you were able to get the room you wanted. How wonderful.
This is a great trip report
