We have lunch planned for akersus and then was thinking of mexican sit down for dinner. will this be too much for one day?

You'll likely be spending about 3 hours dining that day. It really depends on the actual date and the day you have planned if that is a good plan.

For Holiday Week, having two TS is a sanity move. In quieter crowds, it may be too long sitting eating.

Can you move Akersus to breakfast? We have a couple of days planned with sit down breakfast, and then a sit down dinner, with those being our only eating times those days.

We've done 2 TS in a day before, not every day of a trip but usually one or two days per trip. As long as you have enough space between them you should be fine as far as being hungry again for dinner. As for the amount of time you'll be sitting and eating, I've never considered that a factor unless there was something extra we were doing on a particular day like a tour or a hard ticket event that would take up even more time.

My friends and I just got back from Walt Disney World. Each day we were there we did 2 TS each day. Granted most days was breakfast and then dinner. But one day we did lunch at Akershus and then dinner at Flyin Fish (Boardwalk). We even had a snack during F&W.

Our lunch at Akershus was on a Tuesday right at noon, just after the breakfast service had ended. It was not very crowded in the restaurant and we took as much time as we wanted. That is the thing with TS, take as much time as you want/need. I never felt rushed by any of the servers at any of the TS restaurants, including the character buffets, where you would expect a quicker turnaround.

Just have fun with your dining choices and enjoy the down time while in the restaurants.

We do 3 TS a day because it is easier for the family members with food allergies. We find for the lunch and dinner ones that they are a nice break and help us relax and recharge.

We do 2 TS but usually choose lighter offerings at lunch like a salad or a couple of appetizers. We like the extended break a TS meal gives us. We go to the parks once a year or so and so without a ton of new stuff, we like slowing down a bit these days.

I think it's fine...you've gotta eat, right? I think it's nice to have built in breaks and not have to deal with table hunting while carrying a tray of food.

For us it would depend on how far apart the two are. AKershus is a filling meal, so you may need plenty of time in between. We will often schedule lunch and dinner but we tend to eat late. I think that as has been pointed out, during Holiday seasons it is a life saver to have the meals booked, but we do that in Summertime as well. It gets hot and I am not looking all over for a cool place to relax and eat.

We've enjoyed many days with two table service meals.

Of course it depends on your touring style. If you are rope drop until the goodnight kiss people, then this probably wouldn't work for you. But if you are willing to give up some time for meals, then go for it.

make one to be a bit earlier or a bit later to have a decent amount of time between them. We often do two TS a day. Sometimes we will do two appetizers and split an entree. We have TIW so we are not restricted to Dining Plan requirements.

For Epcot, definitely not a problem. We frequently do two TS a day there, often Garden Grill late breakfast or Coral Reef lunch followed by a world showcase dinner. Just don't overdo it with food in between the meals and make the lunch early.

It does depend on how much park time you want to have because like others have mentioned you can easily spend 3-4 hours between those two meals with watching the clock so you are not late or at the other end of the park close to your reservation, getting there, waiting for the meal, meal, dessert. The other consideration would be how far apart the meals are. If you have an early lunch say 11:00 and then a later dinner of 7-8pm then it will be a lot of food but also a good span of time in between. I would never do a TS at 12-1 and then dinner at 5-6 -- i would probably still be full from lunch. It is nice to have a sit down meal to relax so spacing it out your times would work well.

I'm going to break with the average here, and say that we wouldn't ever do 2 TS in one day. We find it takes too much time, but more than that, it's way too much food for us for the price (meaning we wind up paying for food that's not finished or if its a buffet we don't eat enough to justify the price). However, it's obvious that it is really subjective as well and varies from family to family.

Right, I think for now we will stick with just one TS. We are not huge eaters! Thanks for the feedback everyone.
