Two sit down meals a day

Would that be too much? I don’t like fast food counter service - haven’t liked any that I’ve tried over the years. Just wondered how long it would take for two sit down meals?

Most sit down meals take about an hour to an hour and a half start to finish. So you're looking at about 3 hours per day for two sit down meals, not including any waits to actually get your table (as there are sometimes waits even if you have an ADR). If your method of vacationing involves maximizing park time, that might be more than you are willing to give up. But for folks that tour at a more leisurely pace, it may be less of an issue. It really depends on what you want to get out of your days as a whole.

For us, it would be too much time AND too much food - but YMMV.

We are doing this in December and I think if you space your meals far enough apart it can be done successfully. We are doing breakfast early and late dinners. We are on the DxDDP so we have have snacks also to use. We are doing some early lunches around 11 AM and then have dinner at 9 or 10 that night. I personally don't like the counter services either

MEH.......................most do this at home and come in here and say it is too much time, I think of it this way, wait in line for a boat to ride with Peter Pan in the heat or wait AND EAT AND sit in the AC, break away from the crowds, get refreshed then go have some more fun....hmmmmmmm :confused3

I have always found that doing two sit down meals a day -every day- ends up being too much. Disney table service meals are so much food! I'm on the free QS DDP for my trip next month and we're only doing a few table service spots anyway (since it's out of pocket), and one day we're doing two in one day just because of how our schedule worked out; one is for a pretty early breakfast and the other is for a later dinner. I feel like it's too much time away from the attractions to do it more often than that, to be honest. But to each their own.

We do the deluxe dining plan almost every trip and we do 2 sit downs every day. Breakfast/early lunch and a dinner are not too hard to fit into the day. Most of those sit downs are 1-2 hours, with the signature meals being on the high side of that. There are some fine counter service spots, they are getting better, but by the time you wait in line to order, get your food, find a seat while balancing your tray of food-you've probably spent 20 minutes already.

A reserved table, in the A/C, and not feeling rushed-I'll take that any day! Heck I'm not sure I'd even get my DH to WDW if not for the food-and he's not eating chicken nuggets, lol.

I think that boils down to how people do the parks. I personally don't need to ride every single ride every trip. If a ride has a long wait I don't go on it. We use our FP most of the time and then do whatever else we can do. If someone was going to Disney World for the first time and was planning to go park storming I would still recommend them to sit down and have a decent meal to get away from the heat and rest their feet. We like to go to park at rope drop and hit what we can for a couple hours then have a meal and then return to our room for pool time or naptime. We then head back in the evening with either park time or dinner and then park time till close. This style works for us but I can see how others feel like they need to get as much times as they can and for them TS might not work.

I wish Disney restaurants still had lunch menus. Two dinners is way too much food. That is why we frequently go to a lounge to snack, have a relaxing cocktail & escape the heat.

My wife and I do this on every trip. We normally schedule an early lunch (11:30 or 12:00), and a late dinner (8:00 or 8:30). Dining does consume a bit of time, but the spacing allows us to hit an attraction in the morning, take a break for lunch, do a bunch of fastpasses, and then take a break for dinner. If the park is open late, we can then come out of dinner in time for fireworks.

I'm not a fan of much fast food for a number of reasons so have learned to take the time for sit down meals.. How long does it take? I guess it depends on what you order. In the afternoon I like salads and small plates leaving the big meal of the day for dinner. Lunch can take from one hour up to 2. Dinner definitely is 2 hours or more.

On rare occasions I'll end up with two TS meals in the same day.
I make sure they are spaced out well.
Its going to take up a huge chuck of time of anywhere from 2-3 hours.
I don't like to do it.
I also find it a tad unbelievable that someone could not like a single QS location. They all have rather different food options.
I can easily just eat QS during my trips.

When we do 2 TS in a day I will sometimes just order a small salad or salad and appetizer at lunch. At Coral Reef, I ordered a salad and a skewer of shrimp (an add on to one of the entrees). Since we go every year or two, we don't have a need to go on every ride every visit and now prefer a more relaxed pace. This includes TS since we aren't fans of CS. We also prefer to eat at off times to minimize any crowds in the restaurants.

There are some great QS places at WDW. My favorites are Katsuri Grill's shrimp tempura with udon noodles; Sommerfest's German style frankfurters; Yorkshire County's fish and chips and Morimoto Street Food springs to mind. However a 8 day+ diet of it would make me feel unhealthy and sluggish in record time.

You're telling me you don't feel sluggish after TS meals only for 8 days?
They are still rich and still fatty and still oily/greasy.

There are several days were we do two TS meals in one day.

We tour early, until lunch time. Eat lunch at the park where we are at and then back to the hotel/pool. They we are out for dinner and to another park (or eat at the evening park).

We do not eat two huge meals a day, like steak for lunch and for dinner. But we do like Sci-fi (burger and salad) for lunch and then a more elaborate dinner at Tiffins or California Grill.

We really try to eat some healthy options as well.

Thus one does not have to order french fries, burgers, fried food with each meal, I know there is plenty of heathier food options to choose from and I agree eating that for more then 1 day for me would def make me feel sluggish and bloated in no time....

Same could be said about QS locations.
Many offer foods other than what you mentioned and various other sides like green beans etc.
Which is why it's wonderful that Disney offers so many different categories of food sources and eateries for their guests:).

We normally do two TS meals a day ... first we don't have to eat appetizer, meal, and dessert or spend two hours at most TS meals. Last month we did a quick Le Cellier where we were probably in and out in 30-45 minutes. We both ordered soup and salad, told them that was all we were doing up front, left a nice tip, ate and got out of their way.

We try to do one TS meal at the beginning portion of the day (we rarely rope drop) then another one at the end of the day. So we get a good breakfast / brunch then walk all day and are ready for a nice evening meal towards the end of the day.
