Dining Plan Trip Report August 24th to August 28th All Star Sports
We arrived late Sunday, took DME to the All Star Sports, arrived, checked in and were ready to eat at 7:30PM.
Sunday 8/24 The Wave, ADR 9:10PM
We arrived early at 8:00PM and were seated at 8:30PM we shared 1 TS.
We had a smoothie, Chicken Pot Pie, and Ice Cream. Food was good and
Service was quite good. Restaurant is dark but pleasant. 1TS

Monday 8/25
Breakfast at ASSp Food court, used up 1CS, and 1SS. DH had a breakfast
Platter and two cold drinks. I had cold cereal with milk and used my mug
Food court was busy but we were able to eat and get moving quickly.
Lunch at Rose & Crown, we shared 1 TS, fish & chips were good. I paid cash for the soup...with bread & butter.
Dinner at Kona at the Polynesian during a Florida Monsoon. 2 TS
We had Beef Teriyaki - 10-oz sirloin strip, grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, and stir-fried broccoli florets. - $20.99
And Macadamia Nut & Chive-crusted Mahi-Mahi - Served with watercress salad, warm Shiitake-soy vinaigrette, and sticky rice. - $20.99
And Chocolate Fondue for dessert. Pleasant location, but the roof was leaking a little during the Florida monsoon…we just slid over a little to avoid the rain. Good Food.

Tuesday 8/26Breakfast the same at the ASSp food court, 1CS and 2SS for a breakfast platter, two cold drinks, cereal & milk and a cherry Danish for later.
Lunch at the Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Rays,
Bacon Double Cheeseburger - Served with your choice of French fries or apple slices. - $7.59, we also got an extra bun no extra charge and a large fountain drink. We shared 1CS.
Dinner at Coral Reef in Epcot
Shared 1 TS, had linguine with mussels, shrimp, salmon, mahi mahi in a chicken base. Had a smoothie for a beverage and ice cream for dessert. Good food and we had a window seat. Our ADR was at 7:00PM, we arrived at 6:55PM and there must have been 100 guests waiting to be seated, but we were seated by the aquarium with only a 5 minute wait. Again, good service and good food. 1 TS

Wednesday 8/27Breakfast the same at the ASSp food court, 1CS and 2SS for a breakfast platter, two cold drinks, cereal & milk and a cherry Danish for later.
Lunch: We were at Animal Kingdom and the CS service restaurants were packed, so we went to the Rainforest Café and paid cash for our lunch.
There are not enough choices for CS at the Animal Kingdom.
Dinner: We had ADR at Tutto Italy in Epcot for 7PM, but we went to Olivia’s at Old Key West at 6PM. I wanted the Buttermilk fried chicken. It was not on the menu, but they had a special which was the buttermilk fried boneless chicken breast which was a better choice. It came with potatoes and a vegetable. I had a chocolate milkshake and ice cream.
DH had the prime rib, a strawbeery smoothie and he skipped dessert. Food was great and service was even better. We wanted some homestyle cooking at we found it at Olivia’s. 2TS

Thursday 8/28 Our departure day
Breakfast we used up 2 CS, DH had a breakfast platter and I had a Mickey Waffle, we had plenty of CS to use up. DH had two cold drinks and I had a hot beverage and a cold beverage 2 CS

At Assp DH used up another CS for buffalo boneless chicken wings, a beverage and a mickey bar. I used up a SC for a pack of jelly beans …
All in All we had a good trip, but since we like to share meals, the Dining Plan is not the best choice for us. We tried it using the FREE promotion and paying RACK rate of $84 at Sports. We also like to rent DVC points, or use the AP for our room. We loved the food, but it was too much for us. We did not book the bounce back for next year. Want to look at other options.

Appreciate the report; we head out in 12 days!!
Can you give us any details on the bounceback offer?
We also found the dining plan to be a bit more food than we needed, but when it's free...well, we will give it our best shot!

********************************************************

We checked out 8/28. I did get two quotes but did not book.
Here is what I got for 2 adults, Sept 10 to Sept 14th 4 nights, one day base tickets, no insurance, free dining.

Wilderness Lodge $1375.96
All Star Sports $532.70

We did not book because we did not want to tie up $200 for 14 months, and we feel that being AP holders, its better for us to get the AP discount and purchase the dining, and its still very hot the end of Aug to Sept.
I believe this promotion was for the period Aug 23rd to Oct 1st.
There was another promotion for Oct 2nd to Oct 8th but I didn't get quotes.

Thanks for your great report! Did you notice if walk ups were being turned away? We are heading down in 10 days and While we have ADRs we do not always follow a plan. LOL:thumbsup2

There were no walk ups taken for the popular restaurants at Dinner.
The Wave, Kona Cafe, Coral Reef..
We saw walk-ups for dinner at Olivia's and we saw walk up's for lunch at Chef de France.

Hi, We'll be there from Sept 13 through the 27th on the DDP. I have made all of our ADRS. You mentioned sharing a TS credit--I didn't think you could do that. Thanks.

If both guests are on the same dining plan, no issue to share.
The issue is using/sharing your credits for guests not on the dining plan.
We had no problems..

thanks for sharing. Seems like a great time. And fantastic tip on sharing TS credits. We have a few "big eats" days and sharing a TS would just do the trick! Did any of the restaurants give you any hassle for sharing?

We had no problems sharing TS meals to stretch out our credits.
