Two rooms for nine

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We will be doing this for a graduation/summer road trip/last time together event. Three of the nine going have been there before but I am the only Disney world traveler.

If you are set on location, I'd go with the S/D. The only downside is that you wouldn't be able to use Magical Express if you are flying (or the dining plan, if you had planned to.) Still, with 9, a taxi/van to and from the airport shouldn't be too expensive.

If you are flexible about location, I'd suggest renting points at Kidani. It's fewer points than BLT, and (IMO) better theming than OKW. It sleeps 9 (a king in one room, 2 queens in another, a pullout sofa, and a sleeper chair. It also has 3 bathrooms (which you'll only get at BLT or renting 3 separate rooms.) The pool area is great, plus you can use the pool at Jambo, too. The only downside is that AKL is a little further from everything except AK.

As someone who is about your age, I have a couple of thoughts that you should consider. Please note that I am not passing any judgement onto you or your friends, I just want to put some thoughts out there:

~ If any of your friends is loud or excitable or likely to not care about being quiet at night or early in the morning, consider a value or moderate where the sound will be dispersed from lack of indoor hallways. You really don't want security called on you or to bug the daylights out of your neighbors.

~ Are any of your friends a little OCD or do they snore or kick in their sleep or are incapable of being quiet in the mornings or go to sleep super late or any other non-roommate conducive behavior? If so, consider three rooms at a value or moderate, that way the quarters are less tight so people are less likely to snap. And there can be a haven for people annoyed by their roomies. Best friends don't always stay best friends when they need to share a room for more than 3 days.

Also, remember that connecting or even rooms near each other are never guaranteed. Have you considered splitting the price of a 3 bedroom villa?

I would look into points, but the only bad thing about that is that you need to be certain all of your friends will definitely commit! Otherwise you would be looking for a last minute replacement for him/her or taking on their financial burden. If you do go that route, I would collect everyone's money up front saying that if they don't come, they won't get a refund.

Or I would look into 3 rooms at a value or moderate. If you do POR/POFQ you have easy access to DD which would be fun for you! The only way that this could be awkward is if there are couples among your friends, just make sure there is no 3rd wheel in the rooms! From the sounds of it, you will be driving in so you'll have a car. You can always go visit the Boardwalk at night and go wander around the deluxe resorts, which is sometime my family always likes to do!
