Two rooms at Pop or one suite at AoA?

I'm trying to help some friends plan a trip to Disney because we've been there so many times and they're newbies. They are a family of 6 so I forgot they would need two rooms if they choose Pop. Which is the best option in your opinion?

Also, how do you book two rooms for one family on the website? It just keeps telling me our party is too big for the hotel.

Thanks!

Following along because I have a similar question re: Pop vs AoA for a party of 6. Only in my case, it's our immediate family of 4 (me, DH, 2 kids) and a couple (husband & wife) who we're really good friends with. The H really wants to stay in one of the Cars suites. The bed configuration would work out fine...we'd put our friends in the 1 BR part with their own bathroom while the 4 of us would use the murphy bed & pull out sofa bed in the other part of the suite.

However, what I don't know is if the Murphy bed & pull out sofa bed in the AoA suites are double beds or queen beds. Our family can make either one work.

But if the family of 6 you're helping out has any super tall kids (like 6' teenage boys), that might lean one towards 2 rooms at Pop instead.

Last year we had my mom join us so we had a party of 6: 70yo grandma, parents in their 40s, then three kids, 16, 9, and 7. We decided on 2 rooms at POP because we wanted all real beds and no sofa beds (the Murphy bed at POP was like a real bed). Also, the beds were all queen size at POP, and AOA had some double beds. We made a request for connecting rooms, which isn't guaranteed, but we did receive connecting rooms.

You have to book each separately online. You can call to do 2 room, though it may still be 2 separate reservations so be sure to have them noted as "traveling with."

If I had little kids, I would lean more towards the family suite. Especially, if you have concerns about them getting out of the room without you being aware of it. The other advantage of the suite is access to a microwave, which is very helpful with little ones. If you are talking about older kids/adults, then I would book two rooms. You get more privacy with two rooms. My teens prefer a separate room and I like not having to look at their mess. I have had luck with getting rooms next to each other or nearby that works for our family. When booking online, you have to book them separately and then note traveling with and the other reservation. I feel better about calling to book two rooms, so they get linked together correctly. I find that I end up calling anyway to confirm the request has been noted.

If it were me I would book 2 rooms at Pop. Often still ends up being a little less expensive but you will need to do the calculations.

An AoA suite = 1 Queen bed, 1 double table bed and 1 double sleeper-sofa

2 Pop rooms = 2 Queen beds and 2 queen table beds. Link your reservations and be sure to ask for 'connecting' rooms. The word 'connecting' is key to (hopefully) getting rooms with an internal door joining them together.

The table beds are extremely comfortable as they have regular mattresses on them but having slept on my fair share of sleeper-sofas I would not want to spend an entire week sleeping on one nor even ask a child to.

How are old are the 4? kids? If they're younger I'd probably lean more towards suite, but otherwise we'd do 2 rooms at Pop for the real beds...and I think it's cheaper.

It depends on what type of bedding configuration they prefer and if connecting rooms is absolutely required as it would only be a request at Pop. If they want 4 queens and don't mind possibly not being connected, Pop. If they want one suite but can deal with 1 queen and 2 doubles (plus a kitchenette), go with AoA.

We did 2 rooms at POP for my family of 5. I have teens, so they got one room and DH/I and our then 8 yr old shared the other room. We loved the 2 bathrooms and the space when the murphy bed was up. It was cheaper than 1 suite at AoE as well.

We use to do the FW Cabins (trailers) - they come with a kitchen and outside seating w/table. Boat to MK.

I agree with the previous posts. Our boys were 10 and 11 for their first Pop Century stay and they loved it. The pool was fun and theming was great too. Pop would be more cost-efficient over AOA and 2 rooms means 2 mini fridges and 2 washrooms so the only thing that they are gaining by staying at AOA over Pop is basically an microwave and sink. If the kids are smaller, AOA would be real fun for them.

One thing to keep in mind... With a suite at AoA you know they will all be together. 2 rooms booked at Pop can be requested to connect, but there is no guarantee. And if they are not able to get connecting rooms, the parents will be expected to split up between the rooms.
