I find myself in an unexpected predicament -- taking my parents to WDW, rather then them taking me.
My parents, starting in 1990 when I was 10, took me and my little brother (now 18) to WDW every February. Let me tell you -- it's a great way to grow up. We stayed at the Poly the first year and Fort Wilderness campground every year from 1991 to 2001, mostly due to cost issues but it was wonderful. When I studied abroad in college, they even managed to visit and took us to Disneyland Paris.
I am graduating with an MBA in May, and I have just accepted a job with a signing bonus (no one is more surprised than me). I'd like to use part of it to take my parents and my little brother to WDW. We'd go early March 2006, the first time I could get vacation and little brother has spring break from first year of college.
Now that you have the background, here's the question: My mom has always wanted to stay at the BC/YC. My dad loves the MK resorts, particulalry WL. I think the Poly would be poetic. How feasible is it two stay at two different resorts in one trip? Do you lose a significant amount of time moving from one resort to another? Are some resorts better at accomadating movement than others? Do I need to have a rental car?
While I doubt anyone will complain about moving if that's how I make the reservations, I want to be able to tell my parents how it's done when I surprise them with the tickets and before they can worry about the logistics. In looking through the threads -- which are very enjoyable -- I've noticed that a lot of people move around on their trips, but I couldn't find a thread addressing it specifically.
Any help you can give is much appreciated. I consider myself a Disney expert in most areas, but I've never thought about this before.
Cheers,
Ally
