Okay I am going to AoA Little Mermaid rooms May 13 with BDP and 1 day MK ticket. I playing with the idea of coming a day early. I thought about adding a day before on May 12th but would not want tickets or dinning plan for that day due to budget. I would make a separate new reservation for May 12 Room only enjoying the resort and DTD. How does that idea sound? My question is will this confuse the CMs or mess with my Magic Band, Fast +, Reservations, etc..., I know how glitchy there systems tend to be. Will I need a to check in the second as well since it is a separate reservation. Any suggestions? Anyone done this?

It should not confuse anybody. Happens all the time. Can't speak for glitches because that happens all the time too, but split stays are done constantly with no issues. Yes you will have to check out and check back in, as you have two separate reservations. You can ask to stay in the same room. They may be able to arrange it so you don't even have to go back to the desk, but you might have to.

Also, you will get two sets of magic bands, and both sets will work. You can let them know ahead of time and when you check in that you would like the same room (if they are the same category) and they will try to accommodate you.

As far as MB's are concerned, you will receive 1 for each reservation. Both sets are supposed to work as long as they are active. However every time I go my bands won't cooperate so I bring both bands for my split stay and also my AP band. Between the 3 of them I am able to get into the parks and my rooms but I haven't had one work yet for everything. I am going back in August and I have requested a new AP band and I am going to tell them to make sure to make my AP band work for everything. But of course I am bringing my band I will be getting for my new resort reservation just to make sure:)

As mentioned, you will just have to check out and back in. You might not be able to stay in the same room, but they can link the two reservations together to give you better odds. Those rooms sell out regularly, so I'd jump on it if it's available now.

In order to stay in the same room you have to book the same resort and the same room category, which might be difficult right now with Little Mermaid rooms.
