Two Reservations for One Trip

I want to book a trip from Dec 30, 2015 to Jan 6, 2016. VERY last minute, but it's available! I wanted to book two reservations instead of one so I could reap the rewards of the special offers which start Jan 2, 2016. But when I search for Dec 30 to Jan 2, there's no availability?! But there is for Jan 2 to Jan 6 at the same resort! How can that be?? Clearly there is a room I can book on Dec 30 if it goes to Jan 6. I even tried calling and no one could help. Does anyone understand why this is??

It's sorta their way of making you book a week minimum without coming out and saying that. It happens very often.
