We had booked a dolphin encounter in Tortola but heard that Discovery Cove was amazing. We are now planning to switch to Discovery Cove on our 1st day in Orlando (land at MCO at 9:30 a.m).

If we purchase an annual pass at Seaworld or Aquatica do we get a discount on Discovery cove tickets (dolphin encounter and regular admission)?

thanks in advance

Yes, SeaWorld & Aquatica annual passholders both qualify for discounted admission to Discovery Cove. Just in case you are not aware, SW and SW/AQ AP's are currently being offered for buy one, get one free (until the end of February):

That said, I honestly wouldn't do Discovery Cove on a travel day. DC is a full day park (and even then, it won't seem like enough).....a place you should plan to arrive at 7:30 am and stay until close (5:30 pm). By the time you get your luggage, pick up your rental, drive to DC....half your day is gone.

Dolphin swim times are based on your arrival time, so the earlier you arrive, the earlier your swim time will be. Late swim times are often problematic in the late summer months, when afternoon thunderstorms are prevalent, so that's something you should keep in mind as well.

For the record, Discovery Cove is indeed amazing! :) My favourite park in Orlando, hands down.

Also should have mentioned....a day at DC includes 14 days admission to both SW and Aquatica. So depending on how many tickets you need to buy, it may be cheaper to purchase DC at regular price and get the included admission to the other parks, versus buying an AP and then discounted DC admission. The savings is good, but not super substantial (and the AP discount is blacked out for certain parts of the year).

Of course, there are other variables there too. Will you use the AP in the next year? Will you be visiting the other parks on your vacation?

Shoot! I missed this. We already booked for this Friday!! And the forecast is only 64-66. We won't get there until 11-11:30 so late Dolphin time, but that's fine and I think over 5 hours in park will be enough. In Carribean where I had booked it, the amount of time with dolphin was about 1/2 (spli with group) and nothing else to do at the dolphin place and it was a 1 hr boat ride there plus customs to get through and then back to ship (dolphin thing was at Tortola and we port at St Thomas). So now we have an extra day during our trip. I hope I don't regret the DC decision. Will we freeze? It is currently -20 degrees here north of Toronto (with the windchill)

How much of an admission discount do you receive at Discovery Cove with a Sea World AP?

I am unable to locate it on the website, the only thing I can find is "Savings on admission to Discovery Cove (limited availability)".

Trying to do the math to see if buying an annual pass would be worth it for us for our June trip.

Thanks.

For May 31st with the AP passes we pd. $169 pp for discovery cove w/ the dolphin swim. For just a day pass it would have been $99 I believe - does not include dolphin swim. I believe beginning sometime in early or mid June 2015- through the summer months those are blacked out/no discount but can't remember the exact dates.

I guess it will not make sense for us to get the annual pass then.

Thanks!
