I got reservations for a handicapped room - any idea how they are different from the regular rooms?

Also, I didn't know that there are two sections now - Magnolia and Palm. Does anyone know where they are located?

We just stayed in a handicapped room last weekend in the older section. The only difference was that the room did not have a sperate sink area. In the non-handicapped rooms there is a long room with two sinks and counter space/blow dryer outside of the bathroom where the tub and toilet are. In the handicapped room there was a square bathroom with a lower sink that a wheelchair could fit next to and a shower/tub with extra handles and a shower seat that folds down from the wall. Everything else in the room was the same. Only one sink in the handicapped room, FYI, and a sliding door to the bathroom, not a swinging door. :)

Somebody needs to pick up and send the webmasters over at Allears an updated property map... wait, that could be us! We're checking in for two nights on the 24th! Or maybe the DIS could PLEASE ADD SHADES OF GREEN TO THEIR RESORT LIST?

From what I remember, the Palm is the new wing, it's to the left of the "old" resort, now called Magnolia. We stayed in a Palm room last time, very big and nicely decorated. The Palm section is I believe sort of off the big new multilevel parking garage.

They also put in a second pool, the "Mill Pond Pool" between the two sections.

I'm hoping just for something different we get put in the Magnolia section this time, to compare. I know they did all the Magnolia rooms over when they built the Palm extension, so all rooms have new fixtures, carpet, beds, etc.

Thanks for posting that! I looked for like ten minutes and never found it, duh. You're right, that pool's always been there. My bad. The new Palm section really was a hike from everything except the parking garage in my memory, and now that map confirms why!

I just checked the SOG site, and they have a couple of pics of "ADA compliant" bathrooms. Hope this helps! :)
