I was trying to make a reservation at the Sci-Fi Dine in and I was told that there were no 3-4 person cars, but plenty of 1-2 person cars and that we could book two of them, but we might not be near each other. Huh? I don't recall any 2 person cars at all ... I thought that all of them were 4-person or bigger. The CM didn't seem to know either. So, are there smaller cars or are they booking the front or back of a car individually and if I booked two 2-person "cars" I would get a whole car for my family of 3?

They would be putting you in a 4 or 6 person car with other people because you're right that there is no smaller cars. With a family of 3, that would be really awkward.

We were a party of 3 and we had another 2 people in the back seat of our car. It felt weird but we were too busy trying to get my 4yr old to eat so we forgot they were there. Plus its so dim in there you sorta forget anyones there.

I would think 3 people would get 2 rows of a car. One person would basically be sitting alone in their own row. If it's a 6 person car, they would probably put a party of 2 in the empty row. We had a 6 person car for our family of 4. We put the kids in the front row so we wouldn't block their view of the movie screen. We sat behind them in the middle row. About halfway through our meal, a couple was seated in the last row. The host said, "I have some hitchhiker's for you!" Everyone laughed. We turned around and acknowledged the hitchhikers. Otherwise, we barely knew they were there. It wasn't awkward at all to have "strangers" in our car. It's no different than having people at the next table.

I would call back and get a different CM. Explain that you have a party of 3 and want to be in the same car. It shouldn't be a problem. There is also a row of tables near the back - same food, same movies but no car. The cars are more fun!

Ah! That explains it. I suspect that they have filled the 6 person cars with families of 3-4 and they have that last seat left for 1-2 people only. I won't risk taking two 1-2 person cars then as we will be separated. In addition, my DD would be very disappointed if we has to sit at a table instead of a car.

I was thinking of booking this for one of our fun places for our honeymoon. But then I remembered they put you in with another party..Wonder if I still should?! Also, when is an off time that wouldnt be as crowded and maybe we could sit in the front?!

We are a family of three and we had the back seat. It was very crowded and tight eating that way and I'm not sure if we would go back knowing we will be cramped again. Also my son was upset that he didn't get the front seat. There were three rows in our car. A family of four was split in two rows and we were the third row.

We had this type reservation, but we all got in the same car. Just ask when you check in.
