Two Parties Splitting Park Tickets

I realize that park tickets are not transferable, so let’s put that aside for the sole purpose of this thread (and my own selfishness).

l am helping my friend plan a trip to the World. There will be a total of four adults in her party. She only needs two days. Next year, I will need four adult tickets with three days. We (I) are planning on purchasing 5 day hoppers and use the tickets between us (obviously, we are going at different times). Is there anything I should be worried about?

Yeah, Don't Do It!! (IMO)

I have never used a 5 day park hopper, but I have had many passes, and the first day you put your finger print down on a machine. If it doesn't read it a second time you need to show ID with it.

I'm not saying if it's right or wrong, but unless you will be there at the same time, they'll never know. With a 5 day park hopper they don't check who's using it, just that the age is appropriate for children using the children's hoppers.

The tickets are non-transferable, but if as the original poster stated "let's put that aside" then the answer is no, they won't know any difference.

Now that you know the facts, you need to look at what you think is the right thing to do. Save the money or cheat the system.

Remember, park hoppers never expire, so if it was my decision, I'd have each party buy their own 5 day park hopper knowing that you already have a part of your next trip paid for.

I say help your friend. Sure you might be breaking a disney rule but your not cheating anyone. You pay big money for that ticket and it is either one or the other using it. No ID is reqiured when using a 5 day hopper. Sometimes I think disney gets a little greedy with there rules.

We have a bunch of partial tickets, and when we go, we grab from the pile. We are the keepers of the tickets for the family (children, grands, etc). I never gave a thought to each person using their original ticket. I always assumed, that non transferable meant, you weren't to sell them (althoug this board has led me to believe otherwise). I think they put that wording (since it's not on our older tickets) when people starting reselling their old tickets.
We have asked at Disney since reading that on this board, when I've stood there and fed the machine if it mattered, and was told that as long as I had so many kids tix and so many adults to match the amount of people, to just put them through.

I think a family re-using a stack of tickets with unused days is different then buying a "quantity" discount and then splitting the quantity. For example, this is a true story, a neighbor of mine bought a block of oil change coupons from a local service station. He bought a book of 5 oil changes for each of his 2 cars at a signficant discount. He then turned around and sold the oil change coupons to others in the neighborhood. In this case, I think it's one thing for him to use the coupon for car A on car B. I think it's another thing for the neighbors cars C, D and E to also get the discounted oil changes.

That being said, I think this is really a pretty minor issue, as others have stated. You're not going to get caught. If it doesn't bother you, go ahead and do it, if it does, don't. The bottom line answer to the original post is no, you won't get caught.

Your only worry would be if your friend has so much fun that she uses more than 2 days on the 5 day passes. You won't know until you go and try them for yourself.

That I know of the only pass that requires a finger scan is an AP. The other tickets don't have a name on them so an ID wouldn't make a difference.

Peggy, you and I think alike, that was my first thought. It depends on well you trust your friend. She may decide after 2 days that she liked it so much why not use the 3rd, 4th or 5th.
