two part dining question, MGM

first part....looking at the menus at allearsnet.com, for MGM counter service, we are not finding more than 2 places that appeal to the whole family...
any suggestions?
we have PS sit down meals at MK and epcot, but wanted to have a light meal at MGM .
second.....we are having breakfast/brunch at CRT ( 10:20 ressie) on our mgm day ( hoping from MK to MGM in the afternoon) should we even consider a late lunch or just probly plan on just snacks? - we will be eating dinner offsite on the way back to our hotel ( unless this changes, when we get there - mgm closes at 8pm that night. ( not sure if we will close the park, playing it by ear)

If I could remember the name of the darn place, I'd tell ya!

It was a little place, sunken in the ground kind of, near the Indiana Jones ride.

It had wonderful food for all of us - kiddos too.

We also LOVED the counter service at Fantasmic. They had a wrap that was SO good and the kids got the kids meals in the little lunch boxes.

It was backlot express - the roasted veggie sandwich! YUM!

I loved the turkey sandwich at Backlot Express - it was very good. It also offers both indoor and outdoor seating, handy as we tend to get weather extremes at the times of year we travel.

If it is nice outside there is a good area in front of Rock N Roller Coaster (Farmers Market I think) that has many different stands. They have all different kinds of foods; baked potato, pizza, hot dogs, turkey legs, salads, ice cream... It is family friendly in that everyone can usually find something there.

Given the late breakfast I would just play it by ear. But, on the off chance that you are hungry, I'd plan to go to Beaches & Cream. It's "counter service" (has carryout and sit-down) and is just a short boat ride from MGM.
