We are going next May for 2 weeks, one at a timeshare with adult kids and the second split between the Dolphin and universal. Going to one park with kids on May 2. Then hubbie and I will hit epcot and studios the following week from the Dolphin.
Boy do I miss the old days with no date specific tickets.
So do I have this right? But a 1 day ticket for may 2nd then a 2 day ticket beginning may 9th or so? Do I need to worry about prioritizing tickets in mde? Can't I just use the 1 day and then the 2 day? I'm probably overthinking but..
Thank you! I did look through threads but got a bit overwhelmed. And this is like our 30th trip but not since 2018!

If ALL of your tickets are DATE SPECIFIC, only the ticket that is valid on a given date will “work” at the gates.

Is there any way you can go to the parks closer together, say later in the first trip & earlier in the 2nd? One 3 day ticket would be less than the two separate tickets and valid for 5 days from the start date.

Otherwise the pp is correct since the tickets are date based your one day ticket will be used before the two day. To be sure just check your MDE app after you enter the park and if necessary guest relations can fix any issues.

Thx. Dates for parks may change and we have thought of the 3 day ticket. Hubbies is disabled and 3 parks in five days probably won't be good for him. Appreciate your advice.

I have similar questions.

I have one 1 day ticket valid November 15 only which is loaded in MDE and they sent physical cards to us.
And one 3 day ticket valid November 15-19 which is loaded on MDE only.

We plan to be in the parks Nov 15,16,17,18.

Do I need to bring and swipe the physical cards for the 15th and use the magic bands the rest of the days? Or will they all work just using magic bands all the days? I’m confused.9800BA42-B79D-4C08-A8E8-35C9D433D386.jpeg

1. Nope. (Although you certainly CAN do that, if you like.)
2. Yes.
EDIT:
Which brings up an important question...
Are the two types of tickets (ONE-day and THREE-day) being used by the SAME GUEST(s)?
If so, that can be a very uneconomical thing to do.
If this is the case, a guest would be better off, financially, to only use the THREE-day ticket for this trip and SAVE the ONE-day ticket, unused, until it's value can be used to help pay for a new ticket for a future trip.

Since both of your tickets are valid on Nov. 15, I suggest stopping at guest services prior to entering your first park to make sure your 1 day ticket is prioritized for Nov. 15.

Repeat of EDIT above:

Oh, yes, Robo, I missed that part. PP should upgrade the 3-day base to a 4-day base if that's the case to cover Nov. 15, 16, 17, 18?

Yes.
But, I’m not sure that all guests in the party have the same kind of ticket.
It may be that one guest is going into a park for one day and another guest is going on 3 days.

this is correct. It was originally 4 day passes bought as a hotel package but we had to split it up because some guests are staying 3 and some 4.

I’ll likely just stop by guest relations as a precaution before entering the park the first day.

Since this reply has introduced some additional confusion on my end...
(And, I want to make sure that you are not accidentally making some decisions that can cause
some unintentional financial overpayments regarding tickets.)

Can you please list each guest and each ticket they will use?

As an example:

Guest A- 3 day Base Ticket, Use on Nov. 15, 16, 17
Guest B- 3 day Base Ticket, Use on Nov. 15, 16, 17
Guest C- 1 day Base Ticket, Use on Nov. 15
-Etc.

That is exactly the problem I was sensing.

Guest A and B tickets are costing far too much.
You should not use a 1-day ticket -and- a 3-day ticket in the same 4-6 day trip.

You should cancel the 1-day tickets if possible, and instead, upgrade the 3-day ticket by one day.
If you can't cancel the 1-day tickets, you should SAVE them so that their value ($$$) can be applied to tickets on a future trip. (And, still do the upgrade of the 3-day ticket by one day.)

If this situation is due to having a "resort package" then you can do the upgrade to 4-day tickets right after you arrive at WDW.

we may try to do that when we get there but there was no way to do that while adding guest C and D to the hotel reservation. Multiple Disney reps said that all members on a hotel package have to have the same stats. Meaning same amount of days at the hotel and same amount of days on their base ticket. They tried to find a work-around but had to change our 4 day passes do 3 and add one day passes. Otherwise guests C and D would have to have 4 day passes, even when they won’t physically be there 4 days.

They gave you bad advice.
You can have (for instance) a 5 day resort stay and a 3-day ticket.

The ticket solution given is also a mistake.

Thanks I will give them a call

ALL guests in the package (not always a good plan to buy a "package") need to have the same number of days in their tickets (in this case, 3.)
Then you can do the upgrade to 4-day tickets right after you arrive at WDW.

The work-around would have been to book a room-only reservation and then buy the tickets needed for each guest as a separate transaction. It's unfortunate the CM didn't suggest this option.
