Two magic bands, one ticket- how do we link?

We have a "split" reservation for our grand villa, one is the 19-21 and the other is the 21-28 (the only way we could get the reservation for that amount of time). Our tickets are through UT (for the entire 10 days). How do we make that work with two magic bands? There is probably an easy solution, but this is the first time we've not bought a package and had it already done for us, so I want to make sure I get it right! Thanks for the help!

The MBs go to the account, not individual tickets. Think of it as a cloud storage device for Disney (because that's essentially what it is). All of your information is accessed by any MB connected to your account, the same way you can see your MDE info on your phone and on a desktop browser - MB is just another way to access it.

So...both of your stays will be "on" both MBs. Nothing is on the MB, it's just access to the info. Once you link the ticket to your account, it will be linked to the MBs as well.

The MBs link to the Profiles in your MDX account.

Your tickets must link to the correct people in your MDX account.

Each MB provides the same link to your data in your MDX account. You can pick and choose which MB you want to wear each day as they have the same function.

Magic bands are interchangeable.
As long as everything is linked under the proper person in MDE you're all good.
There is no linking for magic bands to tickets. You link magic bands to MDE, you link tickets to MDE, magic bands access the ticket media.

So do I even have to manually link the tickets to the bands?

No. The Bands are linked to a profile on your MDE Account. The Tickets are also assigned to a Profile in your account. You can have more than one band linked to each profile and each can access the ticket under that same profile.

Ahhh okay, that's where I was confused! We do have one magic band that is separate from our reservation (for someone in our family and friends list), so I will just link that one to the account manually and then it will be in the same state as the ones we received for the reservation?

You link the tickets to your MDE since you purchased separately. The bands will be automatically linked to your DME so the bands will access your DME account that has your tickets. Once you link your tickets both sets of bands will access the tickets assigned to that guest.

Yes.

Any MagicBand linked to your MDX account provides the link to any data that is linked to your account.

Think of it as a key to your info in your MDX account. Each MB unlocks the door to the data in MDX.

The bands aren't linked directly to the tickets. Everything is linked together to the MDX account. the band just provides a means of reading the information in the account via the scanners.

So then do they both work as a room key at the same time? (which would have me wondering why they waste two bands on everyone who's reservation dates split like in our case...we had this happen last time too when we had to add on one day)

Yes. Everyone who is listed on both reservations has the ability to use either MB.

OR, you can always decline a set if you feel an additional MB is unnecessary.

Yes. They ill both work as door keys. Again, it is just acceding your MDE account. . You can decline a band if you want to. Or, you can use the two from your last trip and this one. I like options so I have one in each color.

Aaaah, okay. I think that the last trip (our first trip using MB) is probably where I got confused then because I assumed that if they sent you new bands for each reservation than they must have to be used separately.

:disrocks:I just love these boards I had this question and could just search and found my answer. We have our AP bands and then we have our room bands for this up coming trip and I wanted to know what to do and learned a neat tip that I can use both. Thanks Dis.
