Hi

We had two WONDERFUL interpreters on our Cruise from 18th July to 28th July.

They were so WONDERFUL ASL signing on every night which shows on the theatre. We must saying that their signed/acted - WOW.

We were sharing the seat for the meals, tours etc. Also we went to Magic night with them. Also big jackpot bingo too, nah we didn't win but find that it was FUN.

On last day on the show, everybody was clapping when they went in the stage before the Farewell show.

Thanks to Brian and Jennifer for making us feeling great on the Cruise.

They are staying on for another deaf family on 28th July, wish we stay there too!!

A HUGE :thumbsup2 TO THEM.

Hopeful we get them for our next Cruise in May 08.

That's great Deborah - makes the cruise much more enjoyable I'm sure. I hope we get to meet them next May.

How many in your family need the interpreters? I am so glad this service is available.

Hi Granmaz

My husband, my daughter and I are deaf and for next year there will be 5 of us. Maybe more from another country, we don't know until on that day.

Yes, interpreter was telling us that some deaf people didn't know while they were signers on the show and they show up and telling them that they are deaf which they didn't know about interpreters.

Was this the interpreter? He was on our cruise and he was FANTASTIC! We spent more time watching him during the shows than the actual production! He got into every part so much. My girls loved him and for some reason we saw him all the time (he was on most of our excursions) he would teach my girls a new sign everytime we ran into him.

It was really interesting to watch him interpret for Boys to Men (they performed on the Transatlantic crossing) He danced while he signed. He was great!!!:thumbsup2

This info, should be given out at time of Booking! :goodvibes

The company provides the service on the ship and @WDW.

We had a chance to speak with the Woman who owns it!
She does the CLP shows at Epcot.
and is very proud of her staff...

We also where very impressed with them!
not even needing the service.

I was more entertained watching them, than the show itself!

They get to travel in regular cabins on the ship!

DCL will stick them in what ever they have left!

We were on the front row at the Candlelight Processional last November and were mesmerised by the interpreter there.

I think the interpreter Jennifer you had may have been my friend's husband's sister! I asked if she would be on our upcoming cruise, but she will be on the Med...

ETA, just realized you were on the Med...that is probably her!

yes they are good im not deaf but during the shows i was watching them a lot

We had them signing on our cruise last Nov. It was just amazing to watch them!! The emotion they showed as they signed....I did find myself watching them. What a gift to those that need that assistance!!

What I did to avoid any potential problems is I brought along a USB flash drive (AKA thumb drive) and kept a copy of all my photos on the thumb drive. This way, if anything happened to my notebook hard drive, I wouldn't lose everything.

We met your interpretters in one of the small gatherings in Rockin' Bar D. They had arranged for a table right behind us and I heard the girl explaining to the other cast member that it was a family from Scotland. So, I looked over and said "Hey, that's gotta be Scottishwee and family". LOL! Of course, the interpretter had no clue who I was talking about, so I quickly explained that we knew you from the Internet and your online persona was named Scottishwee. :)

I didn't know they had interpreters on the ship! I will have to tell my sister and my brother in-law. They are both deaf and plan on cruising in the next two years. They were planning on royal carribean. If i tell them disney has one they will probably switch. Did you ask for one in advance or was it a crew member?

They offered us two an interpreters last year so we were asking for our cruise 18 July 07 and got told maybe cos meditterrean. However, DU emailed and told us that there were two interpreters on cruise for us. We were grateful cos we know they were very helpful. Glad to have them.

Tell your deaf family, when they book the cruise and let them know that they are deaf and they will provide the minicom, fire alarm etc in the cabin and two interpreters too. I think Royal Carbbiean have provde them well some of them.

That why we are going back to Disney again next year at May 08. Hopeful to have them again as they were so mavellous!!

Deborah - we always sat about 4 rows behind you for the shows so we had a great view of the interpreters and enjoyed how the performers would recognize the service that they were providing. I'm still LOL'ing about "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Brian did a SUPER job with that!

We so enjoyed meeting you and your family on the ship. Gary especially enjoyed talking with your father-in-law at the Meet. Your children are absolutely precious - and Olivia is a doll. I need to post the picture of you, me and MinneapolisMickey (Angie) from up on Deck 10.

We are off to Amsterdam tom for 2 nights for friend's 40th birthday as they are ready for it but us we still tired and trying to our best tomorrow lol.

When I come back and I will send you the photo okay.
