Two interesting pin experiences yesterday--anybody else seeing same?

I made a brief stop in the downtown Chicago DS yesterday. That was the third time I had been there since they started the new pin series, and I have been to 3 other stores in the Chicago area multiple times during the same time frame. Two very interesting things have happened at just about all of the stores: 1) the new pin series is very easy to obtain--I don't know if it is not as popular as past series, but there seem to generally be quanitities of just about every pin available long after they are released (I know I am not buying many--being very selective about this series; wonder if others are doing the same thing); 2) I am seeing limited quantities of 100 Years of Dreams pins appearing on the racks long after they were apparently sold out at the stores--I got five 100 Years of Dreams pins yesterday that I did not have (nothing great, but still ones that I did not have). I have scoured these racks each time I have gone into the stores and have generally found 100 Years of Dreams pins that were not there the previous trip. I'm not complaining, mind you, but I have been surprised.

The Omaha store has LOTS of the new store pins. I am not buying as many of these as I was the YoD either. Doesn't seem like anyone is. And the store even keeps receiving more in, or restocking from what they have back stage, when they had not sold their first shipment.
The last pin Saturday, the CM knew there were pins to sell that morning. The two previous pin Saturdays, they didn't know that until I was there asking for them.
And even this last time, once I got home I realized they had not sold me a DD beating the band drum. When I returned Monday night, they had a CM dig around in back stage and he found a box of them. They didn't even know they had them.
It appears the YoD collectors just aren't buying these pins like they were the YoD. And the CM's here don't seem to know (or care to be honest) anything about the new pins.
A few do sell out -- like the President's Day Mickey and Val Day. But not many.
It is very nice to know I can go buy those pins whenever. But I wish the stores would promote the pins. Even selling lanyards would help.

I think having the pin trading on Tuesday nights is a minus. We're not far from our local Disney Store, but after working all day it's not easy to turn around and go back out after getting home. Maybe the turnout would be better if the Stores had pin trading on Saturday mornings or evenings to coincide with the pin releases.

What the Stores also need on their lanyards are some pins other than what's on the rack. People buy the pins on Saturday, then come in on Tuesday to trade, but the CM lanyards have pins the traders already have. Yeah, they may have a pin or two from the parks that guests have traded onto the lanyards, but not many. Disney should put some pins on the lanyards that guests can ONLY get from the lanyards and not buy in the stores -- CM pins, park pins from WDW, DL, Paris, or Tokyo -- to make trading in the stores interesting and worthwhile.

I was surprised to see at the Chicago store that they even still had some President's Day and Valentine's Day pins left. The most surprising thing to me, still, is that there are 100 Years of Dreams pins that seem to be materializing (perhaps they are returns, but it has been pretty consistent that I have been able to pick up 1-3 pins each time at the various stores to which I have been).
