We've got an 8am flight home from MCO on a Sunday morning, 3/12 via USAir. Tiffany suggests a 6 am pick-up at the Swan. Is this enough time? My only apprehension on all my WDW trips is missing our flight, just a mental foible of mine, and I hate rushing to get to the gate as much as I fear being late. It's just the 2 of us on the flight home with no more that 2 pieces of rolling luggage each? Opinions?

Hi Bill,

It depends on how early you like to get to the airport! At that time on a Sunday morning, I imagine it will only take about 20-25 minutes to get from the Swan to MCO. But if you like to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of time, I'd go for 5:30-ish.

I don't think it will be a problem. You should be at the gate at least an hour before scheduled take off time. You should even have enough time to grab a quick breakfast. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are the type who likes to be at the gate hours before takeoff.

We used Tiffany last summer and they picked us up 2 hours before flight time and we had no problems. Actually, they were there 15 minutes ahead of time and we just happened to be waiting there early. I'm sure they would have waited until the appointed time if we didn't happen to be there early. I don't like to be rushed either, but we still had plenty of time to check in, get something to eat, visit the Disney Store, etc. :flower:

In my experiences with car services, the driver is almost always early. Be outside waiting 30 minutes early. I've also requested an earlier pick-up with Tiffany & they agreed with no problems.

Thanks, everybody. I'll stick with the 6 am pickup and just get there a little early.

You most definitely will be fine with a 2hr pick up. In October, I had a 7am flight home. Since normal pick up time for most car services is 2 hrs before a flight, Sunray picked me up at the Dolphin at 5am. I had SO much time on my hands once I went through security it wasn't funny! Had a coffee and a croissant, read the paper, dozen for about 10 minutes (hey it was early!!). I think 2 hours is plenty of time. That's one reason I won't use ME, a pick up 3 hrs before??? I think not!! ;) Have a GREAT trip!

Cheers!

Bill,

I really think it depends on the time of day as to how early you need to be there. For an 8:00 a.m. flight I don't think you'll have any problems. Later in the day.....maybe. We had an early morning flight .....I think maybe 8:45
last January and got to MCO at 6:45 a.m. (it was Marathon weekend and we wanted to be sure we didn't get tied up in traffic) WAAAY to early, especially with our then 3 year old grandson in tow!!! So, if it's only the two of you I'm sure you'll be fine and still have extra time on your hands. Have a great time!! We were just there last month.....next visit not until Oct. for F & W....

Personally I would allow a little more time. I travel quite often and there are usually long lines on the A side security in the morning until about 11 or so. I would rather be sitting at the gate with some extra time than worrying I am going to miss my flight.

Knowing our habits, we'll probably be up before 5 and waiting for the driver not much later than 5:30. If we end up with time to kill I'll grab a Sentinal and scan the classifieds for a job so I don't have to leave next time. BTW, DonnaL, our last trip took in the Marathon weekend in '05 also. Wasn't that great weather for Jan.?

Bill,

Yes the weather certainly was great last year in January (we were there 1/1
thru 1/9). We didn't get so lucky last month (12/10 thru 12/17). Weather was OK......high 60's daytime..... nightime high 40's to low 50's. We had one overcast drizzly type day, which wasn't bad. Definitely not pool weather, but, it was nice for walking. Our two DS's did take boats out on Bay Lake one day while DH and I lounged in the lobby at WL.
