Two HOUR wait for POTC?!

Drive -in tonight for us laid around all day resting for the triple feature.

We went to the noon showing at a theater right outside of Indy. They haven't been open very long and there were, maybe, 30 people there. I was so happy :yay: pirate:

We tried to go today, but all showings were sold out.

my friends and i got our tickets 2 weeks ago for the first showing......we got to the theatre at 10:30 and were told itd would start seating 20 mins....yeah....we waited until almost midnight....and then they let us in........but the kept letting the other 2 theatres in. it just ruined the first part of my night!

They let people in 2 hours prior at our midnight showing last night. We had done online tickets, got their 35 min before & could not get a seat. They quickly began opening up more theaters since the 1st 4 at our 30 screen theater were full. We wound in the 7th theater they opened in order to get decent seats. The movie started late as a result & then guess what.....

The movie was spliced together wrong. We saw 40 minutes of it & then wham it jumped about 40 minutes forward. We got free passes to come back + free popcorn/drink passes, but I was so frustrated to get home at 2:30 a.m. & having not seen the whole movie. ARGGHHH pirate:

We saw the 11:45 am today & LOVED it! The 1st two showings were crowded but ours was the 3rd showing & we had no trouble getting seats. They are showing it on 6 screens starting about every 15 min. WOW!

We went today and got there as the previews were being shown. Found 4 seats with no problem but it was a bit crowded but no wait.

This morning at 7:00am I bought tickets online for the 11:00am showing at DTD tomorrow. There were already about six shows sold out for tomorrow, and most of today was sold out. We'll get there about 45 minutes early. I do'nt mind being down front, it's actually easier for me to see that way.

We went to the 1:30 show today and it was packed. People were cheering and laughing. It was great. :thumbsup2

I bought my ticket about twenty minutes prior to the Noon showing today and found a good seat. The theater really filled up starting at about 11:50am. And that's all the info you're going to get out of me about this movie. pirate: ;)

We headed out right after work to see it, I tried for 3 different showings this evening, all sold out... :guilty: I didn't want to hang around all evening for a late showing...I was bummed...should have known after reading this thread earlier today that it would be that way.........we probably won't try now til next weekend

Yikes! I'm thinkin' I may end up waiting till one of my off days next week and hit an early matinee, then; hopefully the early fervor will have lessened a little by then.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict a killer take at the box office for the opening weekend. :teeth:

Oh for crying out loud! You couldn't pay me to wait 2 hours for a movie.

We waited about 45 minutes. They let us in right away.

Agreed. A half hour is pushing it.

Back before home video, maybe. Back in the days when single screen theaters only had movies for a few weeks and then it may be gone for good, maybe

But now? No way.

I went by our local theater this morning and got tickets to a 4:45pm showing, We got there at 4:05 pm in case it was crowded. It wasn't, so we decided to see how crowded the 4:15pm showing was... about half full, so we stayed and watched that one. We got out at 7pm and they were lined up thru the lobby and outside for the 7:30 pm showing...... be sure to stay thru the credits...... all of them..... :rotfl:

Hi MJ! I can't believe you've seen it already. I guess you took your pirate: with you!! I'll wait until next week and take the Princess with me. They are still on vacation. They should be back Sunday.

Take care ~
Say hi to your very own Capt'n Jack pirate:

I want to see the movie, but this is one of the reasons I'm waiting a few days before I do. I have no need or desire to be one of the first ones to see it.
