This is the first time we are thinking about splitting our vacation between two hotels and would appreciate any tips from those of you who have done this. Do you usually take a taxi to get from one to the other? Is it difficult making the reservations? Thank you for your help.

I usually have Disney move my luggage for me. You just call bell services at the first resort, and tell them you'd like your luggage moved to the second resort. Then head off to the park to have some fun, and head over to the second resort at check-in time. The luggage will make it there sometime after 3:00. Don't forget to tip the bellman :)

I've never had problems getting the resorts I wanted :)

This was one of my DH concern because he figured we would lose time having to transfer our luggage. Thanks for the info. :earsgirl:

We're splitting our vacation this year. On Saturday 8/13 we're checking into the WL and staying until the 20th. Then on the 20th we're moving to the AKL and staying until the 27th. We like doing this because it's like two different vacations, with each resort having its own unique theme. We've done this in the past and have never had trouble with Disney moving our luggage for us.

We have 4 days left! Time is going so slowly I swear it's going to stop altogether!

We've changed resorts on several differnt trips and Disney always makes it very convenient. Bell services takes your luggage to your new resort for you, with no hassle!
What we usually do is make an advanced dining reservation for breakfast at the resort we are checking into.. that way- we pack-up, call bell servcies and head over to new resort to have breakfast and check in! We feel it makes better use of our time!
ENJOY YOUR TRIP!! :flower3:

The first time I switched resorts, I went from The Swan to BWV. It was easy enough to walk my own luggage over the bridge to BWV to check in. The second time I switched resorts I went from POR to BWV. I had Bell services from POR take my luggage in the morning to be delivered to BWV in the afternoon. Once I completely checked out of POR, I had a relaxing breakfast at POR, then took the POR boat to Downtown Disney. From there, I took the bus to BWV and just checked in without my luggage. Seeing that that was my EPCOT day, then I just walked over to EPCOT. I got back to BWV around 6:00, got my room assignment, and my luggage was delivered only 5 minutes after I got in my room. It was all pretty easy.

We are thinking about splitting between WL and AKL. Does bell services just store your luggage at the other hotel until you get there and check-in? We already have reservations for AKL and also am wondering is it too much of a hassle to change the whole reservation? Also will we have to call 2 different times for ADR since it will be 2 different hotels or can you still make the ADR from the first day at WL and 10 days after even though we will not be at WL the whole time? Thanks for any help on this!

Bell Services will store your luggage until you ask for it. It usually gets delivered to the new resort late in the afternoon. You can make ADR's for both resorts during the same phone call.

If you can, try both the WL and the AKL. There's no hassle involved, at all. Both resorts were designed by the same architect and both are magnificent in their different themes. We love them both so much that we couldn't decide between the two. That's why we're staying at both! I promise you, you can't go wrong. Give it a shot! :cheer2:

Sounds good to me. :earsgirl:

We did our first split stay this summer and loved it! We stayed 3 nights at POR and 6 nights at CSR. The only letdown was that we liked POR so much more and missed it a little bit.

It worked so well that we have booked our trip for next summer already. We are staying 7 nights at POR and 3 nights at WL. We can't wait!!!
