busy day here today. My Derry Air is going to the dump (deposits only!), get two new tires on my vehicle, drop off some scout supplies to storage, and go buy a NEW TELEVISION for the DAYTONA 500!!!!!!! I called and ordered digital cable yesterday and am so excited to have the Speed channel, and HBO on demand for the Sopranos...I may have to start watching TV again!!!!
Any advice on televisions? We want a 36-42 inch, HD...but beyond that, only price is my deciding factor........

HD television = Blurry on non HD channels.
On Demand = Not available in Derry (must have something to do with the air)
Speed = not included in Digital Plus, you have to add the "Premiere Pack".
HD Channels = Another upgrade.
Not worth paying about 100 per month, but that's just me. For the price of a HDTV, I think I would just get a HUGE regular one. Come on down and watch it on the 52 inch screen, missy.

Steph ~ I've only heard two stories regarding HD so far...

One was the Playboy Channel wasn't too happy with it because they felt you could see things that were, er, "touched up"

Second, along the same lines I heard viewers of CSI were disappointed when a prop used in a recent episode was obviously fake due to the high clarity.

So the moral of the story is, be careful because watching NASCAR in HDTV, you may find out that Jr. doesn't look quite the way you thought.
