I've been using the transportation wizard to help me plan times but I am stumped on two things. Could you help please? :goodvibes

1. Is there a bus that goes to the Contemporary from Downtown Disney? If not, what is the fastest/easiest way to get there for an ADR at Chef Mickey's?

2. We want to go back to Downtown Disney after an early night in the MK. Is there a bus to DTD from MK?

Thanks folks!

1 - yes there is a bus from DTD to the contemporary.
2 - no there are no buses from any park to DTD. Buses run from the resorts to DTD but not from any park.

Thank you. What would be the best way to get to DTD from the MK then? We're hoping to have dinner there that evening if possible.

You have several choices:

1. Take a bus to Saratoga Springs, get off at Congress Park stop and walk to DTD

2. Walk to the Contemporary and take a bus from there.

3. Take a bus to Port Orleans French Quarter, and take a boat from there.

4. Take a bus to ANY resort, then take another bus from there.

#1 and #2 are usually your fastest options.

You can of course also take the monorail to the Contemporary, but the reason people are saying to walk is the bus stop is the first thing you reach at the hotel when you walk there. For the monorial, you walk the other way, maybe wait for it, then have to thread your way down from the 5th floor to the first floor and out to the bus stop. Might as well have walked!

When going from Downtown Disney - Contemporary get on the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian bus at the Contemporay will be the 1st stop among those resorts.

However when going from the Magic Kingdom - Downtown Disney it might be fastest to take the bus to Saratoga Springs and from there use the walkway at the Congress Park stop. Obviously you could walk back to the Contemporary and get on the bus from there, however that would mean stopping at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian to pick up guests there. At least the Saratoga Springs bus goes directly to there when leaving the Magic Kingdom.

On the other hand, Congress Park is the fourth (of five) stop once the bus arrives at SSR. Seems the Contemporary bus would be faster.

Sorry to have to disagree with those that use SSR when heading to DTD from MK, but in all my years of heading to WDW, I have yet to find it faster to go to SSR and then walk or bus to DTD. I find it much easier to walk to the CR and take their bus to DTD.

You guys are pros! I wouldn't have any idea what to do without you all. Seriously, a million thanks in helping me plan. :)
