Two days added after cruise...where to go?!?!?!

I saw a lot of recommendations for Kennedy Space Center. How is that for relatively small children? I'm in the same boat as the OP, but only have one day after the cruise. We have two 5 year-olds and an 8 year-old. The 8 year-old would probably enjoy the space center since she really likes science. Is the Space Center interesting enough for two 5 year-olds or would they get bored easily?
I don't think I'd pay that kind of money unless they are really into space stuff and rockets. My daughter was somewhat interested but agreed that the price was too high and she's 12. I somewhat regret not doing it but was quite upset at the price.

If you decide on Kennedy, and are AAA members, check and see if they have any discounts on the price.

We took our guys when they were little. They enjoyed it, but it was the running around and touching stuff that was fun, not the history. The history bored them. There was, at that time (can't remember if it's still there) a play yard for kids, too. But that's a steep price for a themed day at the local park.

One of the more unique experiences we had was an airboat tour of the swamp to see alligators and other critters in their natural habitat. Its an interesting activity to add on if your kids have an appreciation of animals but you don't want to spend the $$ for AK. Gatorland was something my DS6 loved at the time, was very cheap though DH said it felt like they nickled and dimed a bit after the cheap entrance fee.
