I feel like I'm cheating posting a question on here since although BF and I have a date picked out (2015.08.13) I don't have a ring yet but since I have basically the whole wedding planned in my head I figured I'd jump the gun and ask anyway:

First Question: What are the options if I wanted to have 'real' food at a Dessert Party? I've seen the post with the recent menu PDFs but if I wanted more dinner foods or appetizer type options and just a couple of desserts could I do that?

Second Question: For those of you who had an at home reception and waited for your photos to be back how long after the wedding did you have your at home reception? Were you cutting it close with the pictures?
Part Two: those of you who did MK shoots how long did it take you to get your pictures back from them? I want to do MK and DHS but would really want those pictures back before the reception since those are the photos everyone thinks of when you say 'Disney Wedding'

TIA!!!

Yes you can totally have "real" food, it would be your reception rather than a DP. I know one bride who had all Italian food as it was lady and the tramp themed. I'm not sure but you may have to have a buffet rather than a plated meal.

Thanks that's exactly what I wanted to use it as - a 'reception' after my Escape wedding. I was sure I'd read about it on here somewhere and I know Carrie had her first anniversary party catered at a dessert party location but I wasn't sure if you could still do that.

We waited 2 months, which gave us time to get the photos and video. Our MK photos usually come back in 3-6 weeks.

:thumbsup2

Thanks Carrie!

Anyone else? How long did you wait and did you feel like you were rushing your photographers to get your pictures back in time?

Does anyone know where I can get ideas for food and costs for the dessert party too? As my parents will probably be paying for this I'd like to have an idea of a number at least when I approach them with this idea. If we were just doing a group meal at a restaurant I could give them an exact number so I'd like to have a jumping off point for this at least.

TIA!

Here is the Epcot dessert menu. Base prices are $26-33 but you can also add on. You can also find other menu items from Disney catering here.

If you are having a reception instead of a dessert party at one of the World Showcase Lagoon sites, the hot items are more limited.

That's funny. That link, only the pictures come up, none of the menu! My phone stinks.
