Hi everyone! We'll be headed to the parks in March and both my daughters will have birthdays that week, one turning 8 on the 23rd and one turning 6 on the 27th. Does anyone have any suggestions for 'special' things to do for birthdays at the parks? We're doing special dining each day (BOG for the 8 year old, CRT for the 6 year old) and thinking about maybe getting an in-room cake since it seems like they don't deliver to restaurants at MK anymore? BBB looks like it's still closed so that's a no-go.

Basically after two years of 'missed' birthdays I really want to cram in as much magic as possible so any suggestions welcome!

A couple of years ago we had one of the chocolate Celebration cakes they offer in the restaurants. It was really good, and although it said it feeds 4-6 and we had 5 in our group, we ended up taking more than half of it back to our hotel (of course we had just eaten a big meal). Also, the Birthday buttons are free and are available at Guest Relations and some of the shops.

Make sure they both wear their birthday buttons all week . You will get tons of free cupcakes at TS , stickers , and who knows what else ! People will say happy birthday to them , cast members and guests . Be sure to put it on your resort stay . You never know what kind of pixie dust you will get ! We’ve been upgraded to partial savannah view, princess room , and bunk bed room !
I like to leave gifts in the room when we leave so they are surprised when we come back from the park . A desert partly would be fun for both of them ! Happy Birthday to your daughters !! I hope your trip is magical!! 💖🎉

I know there used to be a way to add special occasions to a reservation but I can't find that online--did that get removed? If I wanted to add a note would I just call?

Birthday buttons all week and little gifts are a great idea! As it is they have no idea we're going. We plan on waking them up early on a Friday morning and having them come downstairs to magicbands and mickey ears :D

You can call and have them note it on your reservation. And when you check in for your TS dining on the app it will have an option to select a celebration (first visit, birthday, etc). I got tons of cupcakes and whatnot at my TS meals on my birthday trip last year.

I'd check to see if Publix will deliver a cake to your hotel through Instacart. I've heard that their cakes are very good. You might need other groceries anyway.

Definitely make a note on the reservation, we had cards for both birthdays (did a trip in 2015 where DS turned 5 and DD 2). We did Birthday outfits as well as the buttons, we had done the Jedi Training for DS and got him the pin. They also have Birthday pins which were a nice little reminder. They also got to choose some rides and things they really wanted to do and some special snacks that day. I also brought a jar of glitter and "pixie dusted" their hair that morning.

Sephora at DSprings has a special makeup service as well which is nice (I think it's 30$ and they do eye make-up).

BBB isn't open, but there are furloughed cast members who will come to your room and do a similar experience. Look up the "Ear for Each Other" group on that social media site that I don't think I can mention. There are also bakers in there who will do custom cakes and deliver to your resort.

A Capture your moment photo session? My youngest will turn 10 during our trip and on her actual birthday we will be at AK (her favourite park) so I hope I can book a photo session and a special tour for her (either the trek or clse-up with the elephants or rhinos.

As others have said, definitely wear the buttons and make note on both your dining and room reservations about them celebrating! You could also take them to Disney springs to pick out a special treat…so many good options there (gideons bake house, amorettes patisserie, Ghirardelli, Erin mckennas, everglazed donuts, sprinkles, vivoli il gelato, etc). You could also let them shop for a special souvenir!

Let them each order a special birthday shirt to wear. I'll be at Disney on my birthday in February and I ordered a shirt that says "Best Birthday Ever" and I'm going to be 52! I also told my husband I am going to wear a tiara. Because, well, I am the Queen! Not sure I really will, but it was worth it to see the look on his face and watch his eyes roll.
:D🤣🥳

We did my sons 4th birthday in the parks and it was a blast! We made a special birthday shirt for him (ordered on Etsy) with his name and age and did our own little mini photo shoot at the castle! Instead of a gift he opened, we did a build a bear Dino with him at Disney springs. Your girls may like to be able to go to a shop and pick out a little gift for themselves?

You should definitely wear a tiara! Maybe get one with ears!
