Two Alligators Involved

I watch people ignore signs everyday also. But you don't really believe all signs hold equal weight. Right? Two signs that MOST people throughout the world tend to pay attention to is a beware of sharks and beware of gators. Stating that is even on the same planet as a stay off grass sign or other non life threatening signs is more than a stretch.

Your wording is a little over the top and makes it seem like anyone who doesn't agree with you is stupid. I'm stating my opinion. A sign is a sign to most people.

One thing I never do is underestimate the average person's stupidity.

Nothing worse than people putting words in other people's mouth because they don't have a good rebuttal to a discussion. How exactly did I make people feel stupid? Sorry I don't feel a stay off the grass sign is the same as a high voltage sign. Ignoring one sign could be a life or death situation. Maybe you would like to try to reply again without the deflection.

I don't need to reply. I stated everything I needed to in my first comment.

Re-read your own posts. Your use of capital letters and phrases like "even on the same planet " etc.

It makes it seem like you think you are stating facts not opinions. It may not be how you ment your comments, but I was pointing out that is how them came across.

As far as the meaning of the signs, I agree with you. However I still think some people would ignore the signs. It's just the reality of the world we currently live in. Just because you and I are smart enough to head the warning doesn't mean everyone is. Really not anymore to say here.

For the record I did not mean to make what I was saying facts. Though not in the post you quoted I use the words possibly a lot and say IMO as not to come off that way. Also when I use all caps it is to draw attention to certain words and never meant as me yelling or something like that. Saying even on the same planet is not meant to be over the top. Some people are just more descriptive than others. As long as no one is insulting me in a post I never take offense. Sorry if you took my point of view that way. I can happen pretty easy in online forums. That I do understand. No worries and no offensive on my end.

I haven't believed the story since it happened - i still think the parents had something to do with it - just fishy over all
Wow! I don't know if I'd go that far, but this latest bit of information does make me question, as Paul Harvey would put it, "The rest of the story." I don't think the parents intentionally put their child in harm's way, but I do feel like we haven't quite gotten the whole story yet. And it's possible we never will. It's just such a rare occurrence that I think it's natural for people to be curious and want to know exactly what happened that night if for no other reason than it helps them be better prepared for keeping themselves and their families safe.
I'm sure more details will come out as time passes. I sincerely hope nothing indicates there was any negligence on the part of the parents (allowing the child to stray too far unattended at night into a body of water). Because if the second alligator was left out of the original report to the public, I wonder what else may have been left out?

I agree and you would think this to be true but People will do what they choose to sign or not ...

Here we go again; a bunch of posts that are going to blame the father, blame Disney, What is wrong with the Father, what is wrong with Disney, no swimming sign, should have been a gator sign, he's changed his story, his story never changed, the're lying, the're not lying, conspiracy no conspiracy, one gator, two gator. Geez, this has already been done all of June. No matter how much this is rehashed, debated, discussed or argued, a beautiful little boy is dead, a family is grieving and there is nothing that can bring that little boy back. Sorry, that's my rant.

Gators do not hunt in packs. However, they can be in the same area, and if feeding was a huge problem out there, that would explain why there were multiple gators in the area. The thrashing could easily attract the other gator. Just go youtube gators feeding at any gator farm. They do not just sit there and wait their turn. They will fight for that food. That said, it is also very likely that the data just felt like there were 2. Honestly I'm not sure if it is true or not. And it doesn't really matter.

Guys, read the story.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Angelo Nieves told the Orlando Sentinel Sunday that during initial interviews, a witness also said "he saw a second gator attack the father" as he was fighting with the first one that had his son.

Nieves said this was the only witness to mention a second gator. Nieves said the father did not tell the Sheriff's Office of a second gator.

It's a witness that stated so. And the only one. There was probably so much going on, they couldn't tell. It's a non story.

Understood...

It was in the end oversights and unfortunate circumstances...

It is human to question. Thats where wisdom is obtained. You have to grain of salt the whole thing.

Snakes and gators would get my attention. I never go near that water because of the bacteria stories. Never thought about gators.

I saw a tshirt yesterday that said: "the Great Lakes: no sharks...no alligators"

...kinda had a good point.

I don't know that I would go that far, but I don't know that I wouldn't.

In my own humble opinion, there has always been something fishy about the story. (Pun not intended.)

I still think the negligence is 75/25...or somewhere thereabouts. The gator gets 0.

You decide who has the 75 and who has the 25

We may never know what happened. I find it hard to believe a security camera did not pick it up. You touch anything in the attractions the ride instantly gets shut down.

Exactly why I've never gone through them. River country kind of scared me away from that, and it's probably why the signs existed for "no swimming" in the first place. Hopefully they could theme the signs and take away the fences because honestly I doubt the fences are going to prevent alligators or snakes from coming through

The fences aren't to stop gators.

It's to spell it out to people that this is a no-no. It will draw a lot of attention to someone that actually climbs the fence to dip their feet in the water. Everyone will be staring at them thinking who is the moron that just climbed the fence to go into the disgusting water.
